• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... When I use Apple Carplay to play music from my phone, pushing the up/down button will get me to the next or previous songs. However one thing which I feel awkward is, pushing the button down gets me the next song while pushing it up gets me the previous song. It is extremely unnatural in my opinion. Is there anyway I can program the button so it can do the reverse? Yesterday I had a Kia Forte loaner from a Kia dealer and the Up/Down button did exactly what I wanted. Am I the only oddball in this forum? Anyone feels the same way?

I have the same issue and it's so frustrating!!! never really found out anything to change. I hope someone out here has a fix to reprogram it.

Yeah when I first got it I clicked it up like 40 times like oh my gosh go to the next song. Then realized it was down and mentioned to my wife “ooo I don’t like that” 😂

Same thing happened to me so I thought it must be my iPhone setting done wrong or something wasn’t right with my song app. I also thought of visiting a Kia dealer but I also thought they would blame it on my iPhone immediately so I didn’t bother.....until one day I accidentally pressed “down” and magic happened😅

No what I mean is when I pressed down the button for the first time I then noticed the song moved to the next one, so I knew the button was actually working but still not the way I want it to work....

ah got you! There has to be a way. I'm surprised not many folks have complained about this

I am seriously thinking taking out the button and reinstall the other way, my son is a Mechanical Engineering Student and I will be speaking to him soon to see if it makes sense....

Keep us posted if that works. I had a 2018 sorento which I traded in and didnt have this issue. Like others said I thought it was my phone or android auto. everything works fine in my Nissan so it definitely is the Telly. Hope you get some good news..

Oh I also had a 2017 Sorento (leased) and I do not recall having issue with this toggle switch either.....should I even bother call Kia technical support to see if they have some magic program setting to fix this?

Submit feedback to the MapNSoft people. They seem to be taking it from the folks in the latest update thread.

I called KIA customer support not too long ago and I was told that no one has reported this to them so they believe it's not a mass issue. They advised I check with the dealership services because it's possible they may have turned the switch upside down during manufacturing.

No surprise they gave this type of reply, if I got time I will call them and hopefully they can start a "service campaign" to reinstall the switch to the "right" position.....

A call was just made to the manufacturer and I was told to contact a local dealer:mad:

Instead of contacting a Kia Dealer as the customer service rep. suggested, I emailed the manufacturer instead and filed a compliant with a case number generated. From my experience car manufacturers take matters more seriously when customers do this. I also asked Kia to check out this Forum to see the same issues experienced by other Telluride owners.

oh ok, i'll call back and create a case as well then.

oh that will be great...the more people we got to tell Kia the more chances we can get this fixed, can someone relate this to another similar thread please???

While I completely agree that the switch functions backwards to what other manufacturers are doing, but I understand why Kia is doing this. If you have a playlist open on your screen, pushing down on the switch to go to next track makes sense. It would be good if Hyundai/Kia gave customers options to choose the functionality but I highly doubt it is going to happen. It would be faster to get used to the function. :) As for reversing the switch, the left switch module will have to be taken apart and does not look that simple. Good luck and as always, when working with steering wheel, don't blow the airbag.

Edit: The switch part is #96710-S9030SA1 and around $100 to replace if you mess up.
