• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2021 Telluride Detailing Thread

I bought this one for 130 on sale.
How long does it take you to dry using this Adams blower?

Yes. Between the roof and the intricate grill it's taking quite awhile.

I'm surprised, it didn't take anywhere near that long when I dried with my electric leaf blower followed up with my PFM microfiber towels.

I fully dry it. Microfiber doesn't come out during drying which adds some time.

When you look closely there are a lot of areas for water to be hiding after a wash. I hate the iconic dripping water spots after.

For those following and thinking about any PPF. These small white dots are direct hits from rocks or road debris hitting my XPEL Ultimate. If the PPF weren't there each one of those would be small scratches.

PPF was the first thing on my list to get done. The whole front including trim pieces , part of fenders, part of hood, a pillars and roof in front of sun roof, door pockets and gas door.

Got a question for all you professional sounding detailers, I mean that in a good way and not sarcastic, what do you use for your interior cleaning and up keep? Thanks

@LouisD815

Dust as best as possible.
Vacuum.
Gyeon Leather cleaner with MF towels (I can't use this now since I ceramic coated my leather).
The majority of the inside of the vehicle gets a general all purpose cleaner followed by CarPro Perl (my favorite tire dressing as well)

I shared this on another thread before we had a dedicated detailing thread. So if you already saw this sorry for the repeat.
Here is an item that many of you may want to add to your detailing equipment. It is a rinse water deionization kit. It will help get any minerals and hardness out of your water for the final rinse. This way if you miss anything or get that after drying drip it is less likely to leave a trail. The cartridges use a color changing medium so you can see when they are done. They can be refilled with new filter medium easily.
I attached mine to my pressure washer so it is right there, ready to go. I added quick connects to my pressure washer and the deionizer so I can quickly switch from washing to final rinse.

Sweet setup! I'm building my dream pressure washer setup on my wall...skipping a deionzer for now but I tell you what I would get back a lot of time by not needing to dry the vehicle.

The inexpensive alternative to a de-ionizer would be to get an oversize RV filter. It filters out sediment, chemicals, most of the worst stuff. It made a huge difference in making foam and eliminating water spotting.

Just popping back into this thread to share the absolute agony of waiting 2-3 weeks after my ceramic coating before washing the car for the first time. Even called the ceramic place to confirm that timeline because I have driven through a muddy construction zone a few times in the past week and my car is sprayed with mud and dirt anywhere. Yup, they said leave it and bring it into them at two weeks for its first post-ceramic application wash.

Okay, there are harder things in life.... But I want a clean Telly! And I'm taking it into the dealership on Monday to have TPMS installed in my winter tires, and they will no doubt wash it if I don't clarify to everyone involved not to touch it. The pain! The tension! The waiting! Lol.

What all does a first post ceramic wash involve?

We have had our Telluride one week now and it received ceramic as well.

Usually a pressure wash pre-rinse. Foam cannon with special ph neutral soaps. Wash again. And lastly a 2 bucket hand wash again with special soaps.

Plenty of soaps and shampoos out there just make you use stuff that doesn't have "wax and wash" in it. Look for purely soaps for a ceramic coated vehicle.

My favorite foam shampoo has been Gyeon Quartz however I just got some new shampoo that I'll review later.

In my wash bucket there is a handful of CarPro Reset. Again plenty of options out there just stay away with any soaps/shampoos with wax added in.

I don't think a first wash after 2-3 weeks is special, just that my place does it for free with their fancy products. Plus annual inspection and touch ups.

Do you have instructions for post-ceramic care? I got a booklet when I had mine done. It's not complicated, just useful info.

I used the 303 Graphene Nano Spray Coating and I’m really happy with the water beading and how easy it is to basically just spray most dirt or road grime away after rinse and foaming. I really wanted to do ceramic but I didn’t want to drop that kind of money with a 3rd baby due in the next two weeks. 😬 It is supposed to last a year and it was fairly easy to put on. If it will last me 8 months or so before needing to reapply I will be happy. I also used some Chemical Guys Max Coat Wheel Guard and it has worked great too.
