• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... 2023 Telluride Trailer Hitch Receiver availability

I believe an aftermarket tow hitch will be positioned lower than a factory installed or integrated tow hitch. I got a call from our dealership that our Telluride was in last week. I asked about factory tow and they said that it is still unobtainable. I refuse to take possession of a new Telluride without factory tow. I declined delivery.

I bought a 2023 Telluride SX X-line last week that came with the Tow option. However, it had no hitch receiver installed. The dealer assured me they would get the parts and install the tow package this week. They called today to tell me Kia has not released the parts for the hitch receiver yet and Kia has no forecast date of availability for the kit.

Do any of you have better availability information than my dealer is providing?
I just installed one from etrailer. Fits 2020-2023

What about an aftermarket tow hitch? Does anyone have confirmation that the 20-22 hitches will fit the '23

Confirmed. Purchased and installed a hitch from etrailer.

Yes the Curt’s 20-22 hitch fits perfect on the 2023 telluride. I just installed it.

I believe I just found info that indicates Kia will not be releasing that 2023 Telluride hitch anytime soon. Consumer Reports says Kia has had another huge hitch-related recall since the one done for the Telluride in August. The recall is for 70,000 Sorento and Sportage SUVs. The issue is the same…fire in the electrical plug/harness.

I believe I am seeing a 3rd party hitch in my near future. Draw-Tite is now showing one available on eTrailer.
Just installed new Draw-Tite hitch over the weekend, it fit perfectly. My problem is the wiring harness?

Another successful install of the eTrailer branded hitch (Item # e45ZR). Here's the trim dimensions I used for the rear cover panel. 8.75" from the sides and 3" from the bottom.

@glisj001 - For the wiring, there's a possible solution with the Hyundai Palisade wiring harness, but that's only available in Canada right now. Follow my other thread in the "Exterior" section for more updates on that as I have them.

Nice. That position looks really low, could be the camera angle. Make sure you get a hitch that can be used as a riser. The ball would need to sit several inches above it in order to get the trailer level.

Yeah - mostly the camera angle. In reality - it looks identical to the photos that @bgepner shared earlier in this thread.

It's probably about 2" lower than factory from what I recall in the 2022.

The wiring harness from the palissade 2023 or 2022??

It's 100% designed and ready for production. I can guarantee that. The question is if it is weeks or months away with the recall.
Just maybe a little unknown fact: The government recall also precludes Kia from selling any vehicles with the recalled class of parts, therefore Kia had to remove them in order to even sell the Tellurides. My dealer did not know right away untill I tried to install my triball and found no hitch. He found the recall info in an email that explained that Kia also reduced the price of the Tellurides because of the missing hitch, about $300. My dealer stayed as soon as he can get one he will install it for the $300

Having read all the comments it's very concerning that I won't be set to tow for planned trip this coming May When I purchased my 2023 Telluride EX X-line I specifically asked the dealer if I could also order a hitch installed ( this was in September ) They told me I did not need to order a hitch. They said it already came with one! Now they don't even have hitches to install nor wiring harnesses. At the time I purchased, the tow hitch was listed as an option on the "build it" link. Now its not even listed?

Contacted KIA Customer Care Center. They advised me that as of now KIA will NOT be providing tow hitches and tow harnesses for the 2023 KIA Telluride. They referenced recall issue with 2020-22 models and said they will no longer provide tow hitches for the Telluride. Bummer. Have to go with after market options.

Chalk me up as another one feeling I am a victim of a bait and switch. Bought my telluride in October with the promise of a trailer hitch, because in December we were going camping. (Pulling our camper) paid a lot more money for this car, ABOVE MSRP! Had to cancel all reservations at campsites. Family is mad. It's January, and communication from the dealership is non-existent. Really wish I had bought the Honda Passport!

Think the tow weight is much less with those. But, also curious if anyone has tried one.

That is totally insane. I almost don’t even believe it. I huge advertising point of the new X-Pro/X-Line is towing and they discontinue the OEM hitch. What a botched launch.
