Hopefully in a year when the hype dies down we will see better deals, unfortunately a shady dealership is a shady dealership and leapords never change their spotsHad to chime in here. I looked for an available SX (Moss/White) with towing and prestige package for a few weeks now. I am based in San Francisco and looked at most dealerships from OR, CA, NV and western AZ. Pretty much any vehicle listed was spoken for. Car Pros in Glendale had 3 and were extremely arrogant and condecending when I talked to them about buying one. When I asked for a vehicle to be held they declined and when I randomly called their dealership I was told there would be a 10K markup that had never come up before. Super shady. Weeks later Kia of Irvine contacted me and told me they had one coming in the 1st week of June and I could secure it with a refundable depost. I was so eager that I agreed to 2K on my CC via phone (which was never actually charged, but I didn't know that at the time). Ok, so far so good - Got a call 2 days ago that the vehicle had arrived early and booked a flight next day. We had "agreed" on numbers beforehand (and we went from a 10K markup down to 3K). The experience overall would have been good except for the extremely shady finance guy. He was flying over the numbers, almost zero explanation. We went back and forth on maintenance and I had a certain monthly I wasn't able to budge on. Easy fix, 6 month longer term. I did the numbers and was OK with that. Then look at the sales contract and the interest went up by 1% (again, no mention of that). 2 hours later we had a deal and after driving the long long way from LA to San Francisco I don't regret it. Overall the experience wasn't good though. Way too much stress, the constant double checking during the financing made this a sub par experience. Sad to say I would go through it again. I really like the car. Hope inventory will catch up and folks can buy it like a regular car soon.
Can you elaborate on this?IMHO the premium package doesn’t offer that much value
The value proposition is purely subjective.Premium Headliner, Head-Up Instrument Display, Unique Interior Color Pkg, 110V Power Inverter, Nappa Leather Seat Trim, Split Folding Center Bench Seat, Heated & Ventilated Second Row Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Michelin Tires & Rain-Sensing Intermittent W/S Wipers.
For me being in my 60’s I don’t see where an upgraded headliner, HUD, how often am I going to use 110 v plug, Nappa leather ( it already comes with leather), heated vent back seats (I don’t sit back there), or Michelin tires add much. I do like rain sensing wipers and heated steering wheel, so it’s not worth the 2k they charge imho.
That is not true. Placed 5 today. 21 has not been announced and no mention at dealer meetings last week. 2020 full steam ahead is what we've been told.Southwest KIA in Austin is asking for +$10,000 "Market Adjustment" on the SXP and will not take new orders claiming KIA is not taking any anymore and 2021 will be out before i get the vehicle.
They got you twice, the nonsense package and the $899 fee. As sleazy as they are this falls on you for not knowing your numbers beforehand. We arrived at Sunset KIA of Sarasota (Sarasota, FL) and our salesman (Dan Guthrie) had the SX parked in front of the dealership. We were told over the phone the purchase price was $46,035, and my mistake was believing this was the MSRP and didn't bother to verify. The SX was Copper Black, with tinted windows. I don't recall seeing the window sticker, but I can't say for sure it wasn't there. I'm guessing it was on the window. We financed (2.75) via KIA and got $1000 reduction, and then we plan to pay it off in 90 days without penalty. We did the deal, and left a happy new Telluride customer. Later that evening at home, I realized the window sticker was placed on the back seat and the MSRP was $44,140. At first I thought we had the wrong window sticker, verified the VIN was the same, and then found a second smaller sized "window sticker" described as "affixed as a supplemental consumer information label by your dealer". This second sticker had a price of $1,895 for the following services: custom pin stripe, door edge guards, nitrogen filled tires. I returned to the dealer the next day, related the story, and informed them had I known about the second sticker, I would have walked out of the dealership. I ask for some type of compensation for this inflated price, gave the dealer 4 days to think it over, and the answer was no. It appears this dealership adds this extra pricing on ALL their cars, but they only show the window sticker MSRP on the web site, and not the add-on pricing. The add-on sticker is on the window beside the normal window sticker. BEWARE OF THESE ADD-ON PRICING SCAMS AND VERIFY YOUR MSRP.

It's always good to get a copy or look at window sticker. In Indiana we can be fined if we do not show with addendum in the window. They got you twice, the nonsense package and the $899 fee. As sleazy as they are this falls on you for not knowing your numbers beforehand.

miller, Some people paid MSRP or under MSRP but have to wait months and months. You paid $2k over MSRP but you got it NOW.
I mean... it is a trade off right? Deal is done, enjoy the car, go forward, don't look back, the end.

Absolutely worth it. If you're getting an SX AWD and the only difference to you is $2k to get the prestige package.. imo its a no brainer. That's funny....listing all those things on the Prestige package for $2K is definitely worth it for me.
