Canadian SX Limited - Extended wait times

Something fishy is going on with Kia and their dealers. Over the weekend I spoke with Lockwood Kia in Oakville as they listed Black 2020 Telluride SX Limited with Nappa @ $53,995.
Someone was faster than me and they are going to pick it up this week (or got it already, as I see it on Kia's web site but now no longer on the dealer's web site). I asked how long it takes to get one of those and was told that orders up to mid-Jun when Kia sent out the memo about the Nappa Leather were already picked up, generally 4-6 weeks. Different story for orders in late June and July - I was told - anywhere from Sept to even Nov, if one really wanted a specific SX Limited with Nappa car/leather combo.
So how is then inventory allocated so mine that was supposedly ordered and the person walked out of the deal, so I put my money down in May, is still MIA and dealer who kept changing dates, eventually committed to Jul. 15th but won't even return my calls or texts for the past 2 weeks?

I live outside of Toronto and just took delivery of my SX Limited on July 23rd. So it's not true that they have not been released. I ordered my Telluride May 4th. I had originally ordered it in Gravity Grey and black Nappa interior. I got a call in early July saying they made a lot of limited's in Dark Moss and could get it within 7-10 days. If I wanted to wait for the Grey I would be waiting a lot longer. I decided to take the dark moss. It's crazy the delay with the Telluride!!

I ordered mine in Gravity Grey but the dealership wanted a second choice and said one may come in faster so I chose Everlasting Grey as well. I wasnt sure how they would order the vehicle with two color choices but i guess they keep their eye on what's out there to just bring in?!?

Finally got an ETA of 20 Aug for my white/black SXL, but they expect it before that. They have 3 more SXL coming in this month, all spoken for. Seems like they are finally making their way out to the dealers.
For anyone curious order was placed 15 May, VIN received about a week ago.

Where did you purchase yours? I ordered mine from newmarket kia may 28th but haven't heard anything yet

I'd ask your dealer what's up. Mine was Moncton Kia. I had originally asked for the gray interior but was told it would be at least Oct if I wanted that, so I went with a black interior model that they already had in the order que. Could be why it is sooner for me? Hard to say.. they only know what they see in the system.

I'm on the same boat as you - ordered white/white SXL on May 18 and it was supposedly a cancelled order by another buyer. I was in the area and stopped by the dealer earlier today. He told me they had another conf call with Kia Canada and he doesn't believe that either beige nappa or any SXL would come up to Canada any time soon as KIA USA is giving priority to their US customers.
I'm going to be calling them back tomorrow morning!

Hopefully you get some good news! Keep on them. The sales manager should be able to at least show u the status (or lack there of) in the system.

Anyways..
We received a call August 1st that our vehicle was going to be in on August 28th.
We ordered a sx- limited in gravity grey on April 12th.
On Monday we went in to finalize financing and give them our trade in (received a loaner until the telluride comes in). The ETA still showed as August 28th on Monday.
Today we got the call our vehicle was in .
We are picking it up on Friday
Sales lady sent pictures as it is the first sx-limited they have recieved.

That's the SXL non-nappa version. Is that the trim you ordered?

Dealer just informed me my SXL w/ nappa arrived! They were expecting it on 8/20 or before. Happy days!

Looks great! I have my exact same Telluride on order except with Nappa however I was called yesterday to see if I would go for the non-Nappa version. I'm soooo torn!!! Happy to see the pics as I've never seen one. Thank you for posting.

We were supposed to be getting nappa as well. We decided to proceed with the non-nappa and are happy with our decision! Still looks great

We made our order in June (I think that's what you said as well?) and to the best of my knowledge, the order hasn't even gone in yet. How long did it take once you decided to omit the nappa leather? I really wanted the SXL for the nappa. Do you think the heads-up display, LED taillights and the self-leveling suspension was worth the extra cost? Considering reverting to the SX... although a heads up display sounds pretty cool to have

The HUD is nice but that info is already on the display.
Self-leveling suspension - how much are you going to tow? Concerned if the car would look saggy while towing?
LED or not LED.... I don't even understand why they didn't go LED on all trims.
7-Passenger Captain Seats + Heated and air-cooled 2nd Row Seats - now they kids will finally stop fighting and be happy they have what we parents have I wish we could get this in a lower trim and I won't even bother with the Limited, with or without Nappa... the dog will chew on either anyways

Indeed they are. They look even better in person than the pics. Kia really missed the mark not including them on SXL here in Canada.

100% agree with you. Are these the ones? My Telluride is on order and i want to do the same as you've done. This is what I received from Kia Canada for 20" rims available aftermarket from them. I've heard the dealers can sell for less.

Yes the K021 is the stock code, and they had 72 in their Montreal warehouse when they ordered mine last week. Don't pay that price, they can and should do much better. I kept the stock for winter tires as there wasnt much price difference dropping to 18s for tires (about the same difference as buying some steel rims).

Exactly what i was thinking as well is using the stock rims for winter tires. Do you mind telling me what you ended up paying for them. Many thanks!
