Canadian SX Limited - Extended wait times

I ordered a white SXL/w nappa back in December. The next day I got nervous and changed it to black because I didn’t like the black textured plastic bumper on the white. Got confirmation from the manager that the colour was changed no problem. I called and even went in 3 times just to confirm as I didn’t get a good feeling they actually changed it.

yesterday I got the call that it was in and I was so excited to go and see it I rushed right down to the dealer. As I walked up I saw a black Telly with grey interior and was disappointed figuring they’d messed up the interior. The salesman went inside to see what happened and before he came back out I saw them unload a white one off the truck.

So this piece of garbage comes out and says sorry but I guess we didn’t actually get the colour changed and the white one is yours. I’m so mad and frustrated. I waited for 3 months to get the wrong one and basically it’s take that or wait for at least another 3 months for a new one. I’m done with Kia and done with that garbage dealership. Good luck to everyone that got theirs. I’ll be jealous every time I see one.

Sorry for your experience. 3 months is not bad though - in US people have been waiting 4-6+ months. Oh well, you'll make someone else very happy with the white Telluride!

Just wondering if anyone has any updates on what wait times are currently like in Canada for the 2021 SXL. Put an order in two weeks ago and was quoted 2-3 months but seeing all the hold ups in the US has me worried it’ll be much longer.

Wow. So you’re looking at over 6 months from order to delivery? Good to know. Seems I may be in for a long wait then. Congrats on getting the VIN tomorrow!

thanks.... Id be a little more optimistic in your case. Out of a dozen reasons they told me along the way, Nappa unavailability was one of them. so if you havent choosen nappa may be it doesnt take tht long.. But i was also told nightsky trims are faster to get.

The SXL is only offered in Napa leather (at least the 2021) so unfortunately I’ve got little option there. I’ve heard the same about nightsky too - I wish I liked it more but I just prefer the non-nightsky (at least in the colour I’m purchasing).

Ordered one from the dealer last week and he said he would get me an ETA next which is now. Ill call them either tomorrow or Friday just to see what the wait times are. I have heard from 4 to 5 dealers that wait times could he anywhere from 1 month to 3 months. We also ordered a SXL with nappa.

Good news (hopefully for us both) as the dealer wrote today with a VIN! Said it would still be a month or so before it arrives but having a VIN seems like a good sign! What colour exterior did you get?

We ordered glacier white pearl with black interior. Would have liked the brown interior you could get from the states but we only get the really dark brown leather which looks atrocious. Where did you order from?

We ordered an Everlasting Grey (with black interior since that's the only option). Agreed too re: the brown. It's unfortunate we didn't have access to the same brown options! The GWP was our 2nd option - we live on the east coast so with all the snow and salt and dirt we get - as much as I loved the Moss Green I knew it would a hassle to keep clean. The EG and GWP will be much easier to keep looking nice! We ordered from Kia in Fredericton, New Brunswick (the only Kia in town).

Nice! We live in B.C. we usually get white with all our vehicles since when its clean it looks super nice haha. Like the dark moss color but also wish we got the black wheels the states gets would have made it look much nicer. The silver wheels I am not a fan of and most likely swapping those out for some gloss black ones. I wish we could get the same options the states does on color options, packages, wheels, interior ect...I mean they get centre diff lock and we don't. We get few more terrain modes that states doesn't get tho.

santoshnune - We got our VIN on Sept. 24th. Nothing yet. Were told last week it would be 2-3 weeks more so roughly first week of November. We got the VIN quite quickly after ordering - maybe took 10 days?

Man you guys getting vin numbers quick. I haven't heard shit from my dealer. Almost getting to the point where they can keep my non refundable deposit and get a vehicle that's on dealership lots.
