  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Consider the Price Gouging Officially Over

Kia Dealerships in Nashville, TN are adding a 10K+ markup on-top of the listed MSRP price + add-ons for the Telluride. The factory sticker shows a little over 44.1K for the MSRP plus add-ons. However they are trying to sell it at 58k. The line item is listed as L.O.A. on the sticker with no additonal description or information. When asked, they blatantly stated that it was the result of Supply & Demand.

yep, we have a dealer here in St Louis listing cars at $56-58k

They even list that as the MSRP on their site.

I guess people are buying them, though.

So it really must be region to region. I just picked up 2021 SX nightfall as it rolled off the trailer (with no pre-order) in upstate ny for MSRP + tax + DMV crap. Only add on was stupid nitrogen air in the tires I couldn’t negotiate out. And I got a great price on my trade.

it was probably the easiest car purchase I’ve had in 10 years.

If you don't mind sharing, what dealership was this? Thanks :)

A few dealerships here in NY are charging MSRP. I found one of them, thankfully.

Dealerships I've researched who are charging MSRP:
- Luther Kia Bloomington MN
- St Cloud Kia MN
- Ehrlich I-25 Kia north of Denver CO
- Edwards Kia Council Bluffs IA
- Fargo Kia, ND

Of these, Ehrlich I-25 Kia by far has the most volume. TellyStats

Great to hear. Can you share which dealerships are at MSRP? I'm on Long Island and looking for a SX AWD White/Gray - Prestige not necessary but would take it if available. Kia in Rockville Center, Smithtown and Huntington all are charging above MSRP. Any info would be appreciated.

Congrats on securing yours. Which one did you get?

One more to add to the MSRP list is Hilltop Kia in Richmond, CA (CA234). They're lower volume so maybe not the best bet if you need something in 4-6 months, but an option if you can wait

I'm in Westchester. Called the LI dealerships and walked away. Same thing with the dealerships here in Westchester. I'm getting mine from Dutchess in Poughkeepsie. Closest to you that I know of would probably be Stamford; they are also charging MSRP. If you're willing to drive, Middletown also charges MSRP. Good people at all three. I got an EX w/o the premium package which is ridiculously hard to find, but fortunately found one.

I'm in the NYC area and looking for dealers charging MSRP for Telluride S. Willing to drive an hour or so away. What dealers did you find that are worth checking out?
UPDATE: Nevermind - I see you responded and shared your knowledge. Thanks much!

Sub MSRP is the next stage with invoice pricing soon to follow. Expect a sudden used inventory market as well.
I love looking back at some of the bad predictions on this site. This might be my favorite thread for that though. Thanks for the laughs Average Joe

Thanks for bringing this back to the top for newer members like me. I just read all 9 pages of hilarity....Pretty interesting how half the people back in March 2020 were scared, half were nonchalant, and not a single person could've expected that it would be over a year before things start to normalize.

Of course, one thing you can still count on, Tellurides selling with huge mark-ups!

When Trump said to expect a V shaped recovery, he wasn’t kidding. Operation warp speed baby! ; )

$10k Markups is becoming the standard in northern CA!

It's totally insane, yet I see more Tellurides on the road around here (GA) everyday. So someone is paying these markups. I have another year on my KIA (Sportage) lease but I am slowly becoming a non-KIA fan (after having 4 KIAs in a row). These markups and the dealer attitudes are becoming hard to tolerate. It's not a great time to buy a car right now anyway.

Yes, the Asheville dealer is marking them up $10,000, and people are paying it. As long as customers continue to reward dealers for BAD behavior, it is going to continue. I would rather spend $10,000 on shipping or traveling to some far away dealer than reward this local (st/d)ealer!

I too am seeing more and more of them on the road. Used to be very uncommon, no more!

I tell anyone who thinks they can predict the future to stop wasting time on cars (or whatever future trend they think is destiny) and go straight to the stock market. There they can use their "skills" to make millions of $$$!

I bought from Nowcar.com at MSRP last August -Nov. and shipping was free. Paid about $80 to transfer FL tags.

This showed up as unread so it took me to page one, read it thinking it was recent post, then saw it was from 2020. That post didn't age well.
