Enjoy the Highlander! 2019 or 2020 model? My guess is 2019...
Indeed you are correct. 2019.

Not surprising considering they’ve produced 7 brand new cars in the last 5 years. A colleagues first year Hyundai Santa Fe sport has had more recalls than a similarly aged volvo would’ve had oil changes. Plus two serious steering issues. You can look at this statement both ways. We are crushing Volvo 3rd from the bottom in the dependability department. Land Rover and Fiat were only brands worse.
Indeed. I’ve given up on a Telluride. They’re obviously very nice cars. You can get a Volvo XC90 for similar though. Mad to buy a Kia when you can get a Volvo
Yup. Deffo a more expensive car to own over 5-6 years. We had looked at Volvo X60 and X90. The maintenance factor kind of got to me. But the cache of Volvo v. Kia? Please.
I’ve used the Volvo infotainment for the past 2 years (19 XC90) and it’s excellent (does take a week or so to get used to but once you’ve done that it’s superb).XC90 only has two USB ports and if you get captain's chairs, no center armrests! On top of that, the software on the infotainment system is slow and buggy (though I hear it may be improved on the '20). I've had seat time in the '18 and it's a nice vehicle but not one I'd want to live with day in and day out. Way too many settings were buried in that slow responding screen.
It looks pretty, I'll admit, but it'd fail as a family hauler for my crew!

Not slightly slow or buggy. My only criticism of it is that it’s a pain to get to the 360 cam, otherwise the best system I’ve seen/ used (other than Tesla and not seen MB’s)
You obv get the full screen dash too with the GPS in the middle which is a huge advantage over the Telluride.
I agree though that behind the front row the Telluride is a much better equipped and designed car. There’s a new XC90 our next year, which I imagine will be better. I doubt you’ll be leading it for under 500 a month though!
The XC90 is 5 years old now. The Telliride is far more smart in its use of space etc.Okay, I stand corrected. The system was endowed with a new processer for the '19 model year it seems. The version before that was indeed slow and stuttery. I was just in a friend's XC90 about 2 months ago. The XC90 is a more "premium" offering but definitely not more practical, which to many families may be just as important.
20s not out yet. We have 3 Toyota stores if we can help In any way.
Run your offer through this calculator and post result: Leasehackr Calculator — LEASEHACKRYou are gonna love this one (from Ed Voyles KIA of Chamblee, GA).
A dealer quote of $583/month $3,500 down/12,000 miles/year MSRP: $42,795 (SX FWD Non-Prestige).
KIA Calculator, same terms: $462.
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dealer response:
"The Kia website lease calculator is wrong."
"It’s been a problem since they updated it last month."
"We’ve asked them to fix it. They say if the customer wants the correct quote to see the dealer."
"I think there’s a disclaimer on the sight that says something to that effect."
I CALL B.S.!
***CAN another dealer on here run the #'s and tell me if these guys are out to lunch or not?***
Oregon Kia dealerships are marking up between $2900 to $7500.All the dealers in the SF Bay Area and LA Area are charging anywhere between $2k - $6k mark up above the MSRP. I called a dealer in Houston, TX and they are not doing that. CA is the only state that it is charging extra for this car. I guess is the law of supply and demand.
I've had quite a few emails from Oregon. Seems to be getting worse.Oregon Kia dealerships are marking up between $2900 to $7500.
GM - no way. JunkNorCal dealer charging $5000 for SXP in stock. Really want a Telluride but not for $53,450. Found a 2018 Yukon Denali with 28000 miles for $45,995. Might buy that instead ...opinions?
I am new to this forum. Picking up my black on black SX Prestige on Tuesday (can't wait). I went to a local dealer in October, Jack Daniels Kia in Fair Lawn. At the time they had the SX Prestige marked up $15K!!! I was able to get it down to $10K but wasn't going to spend a $1 over MSRP. They even tried to tell me that it is so rare that it would appreciate in value. I said you are selling me a Kia not a LaFerrari, this isn't a high end limited production sports car. I then told them if they would sign something that promises they will pay me more for it 5 years than what I paid for it I will buy it from them. They said they hadn't heard that one before. They had the car I wanted there and I told them I would pay in full right then and there if they charged me the actual price. They wouldn't budge. And I told them I wanted to have the tow package, they said they can do that in house. I said its never the same as from the factory (suspension, engine cooling etc.) they told me some line about it depending on whats available at the port, they never know if they can get it. I told them I had called around and there was a dealer (will write about them when I get the vehicle) that would take my order as I want the vehicle and I would have it in 2-3 months at MSRP, no markup. They told me they didn't believe it and if someone is offering that, I should go there now and that is exactly what I did.

Smart Man And We Thank You!I lived most of my life in Fair Lawn, so I know all about Jack Daniels and their games. Please let us know who you used when you’re ready. In NJ, I had three different people on three different forums vouch for Motion Kia in Budd Lake/Mount Olive and a few days ago some people vouched for Sansone Kia on this forum. I had a good test drive experience at Liberty Kia in Ramsey (a few days after the car was released, back in Feb. ‘19), but I haven’t seen any posts related to purchasing there one way or the other. The rest of the Joisey dealers seem to be out of their minds.
As for me, I’m trying to get my ducks in a row to hopefully purchase a 2021 model by the end of the calendar year. And, unless things change radically, I think I’m going to be making a road trip to Muncie to do it. 9 1/2 hours each way doesn’t seem so bad when you can potentially save $1500ish from MSRP.
Depends on what your situation is, but I have talked to a lot of them.
King Kia has moved more inventory than anybody else in MD, but they will not work with you on anything. They will contact you about new shipments, but if you aren't the first person there offering enough money they will sell to whoever shows up, not holding a car for you at all or taking any orders (even before the SX stop order)
Kia of Laurel had no idea what was going on, I would avoid them.
DARCARs Kia and Kia of Bowie I had the best luck with. Kia of Bowie was happy to help, and matched pricing, but they are a low volume dealer. DARCARs I loved the sales manager I spoke with, but the other sales guys seemed to feed some BS or just be uninformed about what was going on. The sales manager had his stuff together, and was very helpful.
If you are not opposed to traveling a little, my go to in this area would be Abeloff Kia in Stroudsburg PA. Excellent group of people, and very clear about everything. I wish they had received the car I wanted first, because I really wanted to give them my business. Martin Kia in Delaware I also had great conversations with, and seemed like a good group to deal with.
With that said I ended up buying in Riverhead, NY at Eagle Auto Kia because they received the prestige SX I wanted, and I did not care about a drive to get it. I did talk pricing with all of these dealers, so I got to see how they were going to handle things.
