If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Dealer Markup

Thanks! So the 2020s came out in February. Are the 2021s coming out in February as well and when will orders for those open up?

The next model year usually arrives at dealerships in q4 of current year. So, that would be September or October of 2020. There won't be many changes.

Just talked to 1 dealer in CA for a SX and it has whooping $15K markup! I think that is one reason we still don’t see many Telluride on the road. First time I encounter a new car with markup.

In the immortal words of our dearly departed Whitney Houston ... “Crack is wack!”

Holy Cow! Man are they proud!

Let me guess Cerritos Kia

I think Kia needs to do something about it. It’s pushing people away, and they just simply move on to another brand if they need it now. I understand the supply & demand concept and I think manufacturing can’t really control the selling price, but they need to work with the dealers IMO.

KIA had no idea that the Telluride would do this well. They've increased production on the fly. Lots of suppliers had to do the same. It's hot because it's priced right and looks Incredible. Great problem to have. Most people who really want something will wait for it and well worth it in my opinion.

The only thing Kia needs to do is make a hell of lot more Tellurides. Problem solved.

We were told 40k to begin with because they wanted the quality of this vehicle to stand tall amongst anything else remotely close. Sure.... Build more but they were never ready to do so for 2020. 2021 will be a different story.

BMW M, Benz AMG, Audi RS, Corvette, Supra... You dont shop these?
A guy I know just sold a new MB GWagon 50k above sticker. It happens.

Its crazy to me people are willing to pay the markup or even MSRP. I, by no means, mean any offense... But its frustrating that these dealers are doing this. I suppose if someone is willing, why not. But its frustrating because I cannot seam to find any place that doesn't do it in my area.

Take a trip to Indiana and get yours there at costco pricing from Kia of Muncie....they have had people from Florida and Virginia order from them. It makes a nice road trip to get to learn your new ride.

Its not limited by state, we have saw NJ dealers charging $20K over MSRP. I have two dealers within 10 miles of me in Maryland, one is charging over MSRP, once is matching kia.com dollar for dollar. If the dealer is charging extra, just look for another dealer.

Went to see the sx prestige yesterday in Cerritos California... 14 grand markup. Cause they are “rare” he says

LOL. Wow. They are proud of those SX's

So rare that they even forgot to tell you KIA will be making a boatload of them next year, and the year after, and...

All the dealers in the SF Bay Area and LA Area are charging anywhere between $2k - $6k mark up above the MSRP. I called a dealer in Houston, TX and they are not doing that. CA is the only state that it is charging extra for this car. I guess is the law of supply and demand.
Every dealer in Oregon marked up ever Telluride 3k they are calling it “Market adjustment”. I am passing on KIA !!

When will dealers learn that they loose business by doing this... Sad.

I live in NM and the dealers are charging anywhere from 2500.00 to a 5000.00 dollar addendum I was able to drive to TX and come to find out they are doing the same thing, I have now decided to call the dealers and ask who is doing markups and for how much, I did find a couple of dealers in Arizona that are not doing markups and they now have there eye on out on what I am looking for. I suggest to pick up the phone call the dealers and see which dealers are robbing the people and which dealers are honest and selling them out right. The way I see it Karma is a Bitch, it may not be today it may not be tomorrow buy something will happen. Good Luck to everyone that had there heart set on a Kia Telluride, it too bad what greed does.
