• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... DIY - Remote Start for US 2020MY Telluride (Accessorides) - MEGATHREAD

One more thing to add on the LR install. After everything was programmed, I disconnected the antenna wire from the module so I could run it down the A pillar. When I hooked it up again, it didn't change any of the programming. All remotes still worked as they should. I also had plenty of wire left... so I think it could easily reach the center of the windshield, should someone decide to install that way.

I'm guessing here, but if someone chose to add-on the LR option after originally going with only the plug n play version... I would think all Accessorides would be sending you is the 2 remotes and antenna.

That’s a lot of clicking

installed remote start with takeover (using fuse taps) and received 10% discount thanks to this forum. Great writeup and ideas in this thread made this process fairly simple. thank you!

Hi All

I just wanted to let the owners of Canadian Tellurides who are thinking of installing the accessorides remote starter that the Canadian version of the Telluride has a security bracket that is found on Kias and Hyundai’s only in Canada. The US models are not equipped with this bracket. Unfortunately this bracket is held on with two shear head bolts - the head breaks off on installation making impossible to remove the bracket without damage. After I discovered this I decided to return the remote starter to accessorides because removing that bracket could void my warranty. The company was very good about giving me a full refund. I have attached a few pictures showing the connectors that have to be removed to install the remote starter but are covered by this security bracket. It’s strange that Canadian models would be different than Tellurides built for the US market.Accessories2.webpAccessorides3.webpAccessorides1.webp

I may have missed this somewhere but does the smart phone app functioning work with the no takeover option? Thanks!

A dremel to remove that tab to pull the cable should do the trick. 😁 Just sand it smooth and act like it came that way from the factory.

You are able to purchase the smart phone app bundle without takeover on the website. It would likely work the same as the fob, just turns off when you open the door.

Just installed the remote start with the module for phone app. It's getting hot down here in Texas, and desperately needed a remote start.

The toughest part of the install was contouring my body to reach the control unit to unplug the green and red cable. Was a breeze after that was done. I also did not stick the remote module (required for the phone app) 'high up on the dash' as the manual suggested. I just stuck it above the floor mat and it's been working great so far.

Compared to the UVO app, the CL6 is far far superior. Startup times for me are less than 5 seconds! The few times that I have used the remote start have been exclusively using the APP. I don't see a scenario where I need to use the keyfob.

Really happy with the remote start! If anyone is on the fence, just do it!

So I bought this whole kit, and then it suddenly was winter and I couldnt install the thing in my driveway, so I subscribed to UVO for 4 months or whatever... and now we have decided to upgrade from a 2020EX to a 202(2) SX-P. So if anyone is interested in buying one of these things New In Box, for cheaper than the website let me know.

How did the upgrade go? big difference in price? I was thinking about doing the same thing.

Ha we are still waiting. So what happened is I was in a car accident in 2019 and my Ford Taurus X (like the freestyle, before the flex, kinda like a mini-van got knocked up by an explorer) got t-boned by some moron. So we were pressed for time, and test drove an SX-P and loved it, but it was out of our price range. So we went to a different dealer to look at a used Sorento, and they happened to have a FWD 2020 EX there and available. So we drove the 2016 Sorento, and then the Telly, and were just like damn we need to do this (a lot of the safety stuff sold us). So we were kinda stuck with the Sangria / FWD EX since we could afford it at the time, but it was what they had.

So the pandemic actually saved us a lot of money on child care, and we both kept our jobs working at home. And we had seen more Tellys driving around and we both reallly like dthe Gravity Grey, and also after a winter in Chicago with it, wished we at least had the AWD for the snowy days. So I started checking book values, and realized we could basically get all of our money back out of the 2020 EX as Carvana was offering 41k, and we have like 34k left on the loan after whatever down payment we scraped together + 18 months of paying. So I went in and ordered a new one and the dealership was like yea you are going to get good trade value these things sell like hot cakes. So we are still waiting on our new 22 GG/Dune Brown SX-P to come in and then we will swap everything out.

Quick question to the awesome Tellthemride..... I'm a little confused by the website description of options.

If you select the 100% Plug-n-Play option with No Takeover (currently $299) , how does this option actually install?

Is the deliverable kit simply a set of instructions to re-program the OEM key fob?

I can help with that... that was the option I initially went with... didn't want to splice/tap into factory wires...

That option comes with a module with 2 t-harnesses for plugging into the wiring harness behind the glove box.

That then allows the stock fob to work with the 3X-lock to start the car.

Just remember, you are limited to the range of the stock fob and that the car shuts down when you unlock to get in.

I ultimately ended up getting the long-range with takeover...

Thanks, bogie! Good info. Interesting decision here.

I just installed the Full optioned remote start over the weekend on my wife's 2020 Telluride and it works great! I placed both the long range antenna and the cellular module in glovebox and have excellent range. It was very easy to install. I also installed a remote start long range kit form Accessorides for my 2020 Sorento and it was a breeze also and works great. I would definitely recommend!

Has anyone had any issues with the ACCESSORIDES remote start module causing failure of the IBU (Body Control Module)? I've been having some battery discharging issues and the dealership says it is the IBU (Battery Discharging Warning). I disconnected both the proximity and Accessorides modules prior to the visit, but I'm just wondering if either has anything to do with causing the issue.

No problems to report since I installed. Hope you find a resolution. Definitely hope has nothing to do with Accessorides remote starter. 🤞

No problems as of yet.

Hope yours gets fixed.

No issue with my long distance with takeover remote start, with the prox module piggy backed on to it...

Vaguely recall a thread concerning battery discharge... might try a search...

Which service department are you using? Did they provide any other info to you that they have seen this before?

I took it to Westside Kia (closer to me for service, but I would not recommend purchasing from them). They didn't say whether or not it was something they'd seen before, but didn't act surprised when I explained the issues I was having and the message I was getting in the instrument cluster.
