If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey all, first post here but have been a lurker for some time. My wife is due for a new car soon (currently in a 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit) and with our expanding family it's been decided our next needs to be a three row that can accommodate up to 6 in comfort.

I've run the gamut between all of the options available out there - full size body on frame both premium and luxury segments (expedition, tahoe, yukon denali, qx80, navigator, escalade) as well as the mid-size crossover segment (grand cherokee l, aviator, q7, pathfinder, qx60, etc) and keep coming back to the Telluride. The combination of aggressive exterior, premium interior, features and overall value makes it hard to ignore.

I've read many of you are dealing with paying OVER MSRP due to the current environment (which I'm not willing to do) but wanted to see if anyone has had luck buying existing inventory off the lot at, or even slightly below MSRP? We're in the DC metro area and have several dealerships between DC/MD/VA to choose from some of which have decent inventory levels (currently, at least).

For reference, we're looking at SX AWD + prestige package + nightfall edition + tow package in either black or moss green + dune brown nappa interior. Will likely lease at first so we have an out, just in case she doesn't like it for whatever reason.

Looking forward to leveraging all of the knowledge and experience to be found here, thanks!

Welcome. Leasing the Telluride is not a good option right now. Terrible lease rates. I guarantee that you won't find that Telluride spec for MSRP on the lot in the region you mentioned. Read the thread that starts with "Three Ways..." - good luck!

If you really want to lease a vehicle, you can probably get a better lease deal on one of those other models you mentioned - perhaps BMW or Audi luxury, simply because they offer stronger lease incentives. But, I haven't priced that out in a while.

Welcome to you. This forum has been a Godsend for me. One of the best I have seen. But, aside from the welcome, I found your first post about the types of vehicles quite interesting. 👍

Btw, the Telluride was not my first choice. In fact, was not even on my radar (I had never heard of one). My first two choices were Honda Pilot (since I loved my old one), and Toyota Highlander. Stumbled upon the Telluride while doing research on my choices. And, like you, during that time, kept finding myself coming back to the Telly.

Anyway, two points.

First. Many dealers say they are selling MSRP, but in reality, in order to purchase one, they tack on certain inflated fees or packages (tint, etch, etc) that basically is a markup.

Second, about the only way you can get something less than MSRP, is in finance incentives. Meaning, if Kia is offering a rebate (usually $500). But, the trade off there is you pay a higher interest rate. So, the only way to come out ahead on that is to finance it, take the rebate, then pay off the vehicle in full.

Wish you the best.
