I filled the car with gas today but gas gauge is at ~ 5/8 full. I will be taking it in shortly for service (5000 miles) but in the mean time does anybody else have this issue. I apologize up front if this has been discussed before.

I usually do add more gas to get to an even dollar amount. I have done that for 50+ years, never had this issue before but will keep your comments this in mind.Do you always add more when the pump shuts off by itself? Overfilling the tank can cause the fuel level sensor to not read correctly over time. I had a GMC Envoy and I did the same thing to; eventually the gauge started to not read correctly. Had it repaired and the mechanic said to stop overfilling the tank. Just my .02
ThanksSame here till I had that Envoy issue; that put a stop to rounding up. Had the sensor fixed under warranty (I was surprised since it ended up being my fault).
Good question, as I recall it was something like 350.Once you top off the tank and it’s showing 5/8, how many miles does it show as your range?
Can you share what they said was the issue? MyJust ran into this issue today, went to the gas station with half-tank left, topped up at around 9 gallons, and the instrument gauge was showing only 60% full. Taking it to the dealer on Friday to see what's up.
Does anyone have an update on this? I have a 2022 and just ran into this issue today. My tank said E Even after I put in 4 gallons of gas.Sure it wasn’t the pump at the station you used that stopped filling prematurely? Did you try another fuel pump to rule that out?
I had them check the pump and I also filled the gas going through the hoseDoes anyone have an update on this? I have a 2022 and just ran into this issue today. My tank said E Even after I put in 4 gallons of gas.

I used to do that too until I read a bunch of articles saying you shouldn’t. https://www.cars.com/amp/articles/what-happens-when-you-fill-up-with-too-much-gas-442051/Well, my new 2023 Telluride fuel reading went to ZERO with no range estimate (--) on our first road trip 400 miles from home. We were only on our 2nd tank of gas. The tank indicated 1/2 full when we turned the car off then registered empty the next time we started up. The next day and several starts later, it started reading accurately again. Seems more like a software error than a sensor issue.
BTW I've only filled the car up 3 times, but it has consistently clicked off at the pump with a 1/2 gallon still left to fill. So, I have been letting it click off the first time, then go only one more click-off.
