Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

I just wanted to post about how great an experience I had with Jeff at Scott Harvey Kia in New Jersey. Jeff was very honest and down to earth. No pressure tactics. Easy to deal with, very knowledgeable. Jeff and the other staff came across as genuine and trustworthy. I really can't say enough good things.

After totalling my car, I decided on the Telluride before realizing how hard it would be to get one. Never thought I would want a Kia so much. I have been in contact with 12 to 15 dealers all telling different information and markups, selling out from under me, or saying I wouldnt be able to get my hands on an SXP, etc.
When I finally got to Scott Harvey Kia, they were the first ones to tell me they could put an order in for me but honestly explaining I would have to wait. Using the information from this forum and the awesome VIN lookup tool, I was able to identify an SXP Black Copper with black interior that was incoming. I lucked out and the one arriving at the dealer was not already sold! So I didnt have to order it and they were selling at MSRP no markup. And I love it! Just picked up today! I highly recommend Scott Harvey Kia in NJ.

I ordered from Kia of Fargo. Mike Agular is my guy over there.👍 They are consistently pricing theirs about $400 below sticker. Always good at letting me at least sit in one if they have one kicking around waiting to be delivered. I've only seen 3 ever available for purchase on the lot since March and two were the initial lx's they got first. The rest are pre sold.

I ordered Feb 15th and was quoted 4-6 months. I'm fine with that, I'm not super interested in paying sticker for a car so the wait will be nice to see if production catches up with demand or if they change anything important for 21. If so, I'll just wait longer and buy one next year when the prices will likely be better. If not, I at least have one coming so I can snatch it up if I want.

Quick post from PA. I had a very good experience with Sussman Kia in Jenkintown, PA. I was fortunate to call them last month just after another customer backed out of their order. I put a deposit down on the car and took delivery today (SX-P AWD BCP/Black) . The salesman, the finance lead, and the GM were friendly, honest, and professional. Price was at MSRP. Would recommend. (One note, the planned delivery date from Kia kept getting pushed back 1-2 days at a time, but still earlier than the original date). Please let me know if you have any questions.

That dealership isn't too bad at all (just small inside!). That's where I took my Sorento for service (I'm about 10-15 min away). Good find and enjoy your ride.

Thanks SorentoSXL! I'm about 20 minutes from there myself. This summer, the GM told me, they are opening a brand new sales location down the street. Should be a lot nicer. 🙂

Good! These great new Kias deserve a nicer home.

Funny enough, I had an '05 Mazda3 hatch and used to take it to that location for service.

Funny you mention such great reviews about Scott Harvey... we had a completely different experience just today. We have one on order with another dealer but have been contacting other dealers from the info on the lookup site. We stumbled upon some VINs created for Scott Harvey and started inquiring last week... Initially they said they have some coming in and would be in touch when they arrived. The sales guy (Frank) called us yesterday and told us he had a white SX-PT available, within a matter of a couple of hours tied up in work meetings we call back and the car is already 'sold' with deposit. He called us back today... offering another one, but black, not our first choice but OK we can consider if it means not waiting 4+ months. He tells us they are selling at MSRP... We ask him to email over the the final itemized price, and what a surprise, Frank says "I have to sell this car at 1500 over MSRP". They must have really liked you or something... Amazing that we are talking about events that occurred in the same week!

That is odd. Could the different sales people say different things? I'm sorry to hear that. I did see a couple get delivered while I was there on Monday.

I ordered my Gravity Grey SX P+T a couple of weeks ago at #1 Cochran in Robinson, PA (just west of Pittsburgh, PA). It was completely no hassle and they agreed to give me what I wanted on my Grand Cherokee trade. The salesman Nick literally handed me his IPad and let me build it and they ordered it. Should be here in June sometime. He said the owner of the #1 Cochran franchise, Rob Cochran, doesn't believe in charging over MSRP. Plus they have been big supporters of local dirt track racing for decades in Western PA so I was hoping to buy from them for that reason. They are highly recommended.

Maybe why this why they have 6 on their lot today ! I can’t believe they have that many to begin with. It doesn’t seem like a high volume dealer

I had a great experience with Ray Skillman Kia in Indianapolis. I live in the Cincinnati area and had an order in with a local dealer that had not been accepted yet. I was calling other dealers within a reasonable driving radius to let them know what I was looking for. I had spoke with Keenan Hoffman at Ray Skillman and told him the trim and options I wanted and he said he would keep an eye out for me. I got a text from him this morning that they just got a Telluride with the exact options I wanted. Initially we made arrangements to put down a deposit and drive up to get the car next weekend but since the manager wanted to get the sale done today (last day of the month) they prepared the paperwork for me via call/text and then drove the car right to me. I paid sticker price with no random markups or fees. They really delivered for me - literally. I feel incredibly lucky to have my Telluride (who knows how long my order would have took) and am happy to have done business with them.

Just ordered a Dark Moss SX-P from Ehrlich I-25 Kia in CO at MSRP and paid a refundable $500 deposit. Worked with Mike Marzolf, who was awesome. He quoted me a 3-month delivery time. Another poster @Dougb44 mentioned he had also purchased a SX-P from same dealership about 2 weeks ago and they just gave him an ETA of April 4th. Checking Telly Stats, Ehrlich is the 6th largest dealer in terms of number Tellurides, so the 3-month estimate may not be too far from the truth.

Like so many others on this forum, you can add me as an extremely satisfied and potential repeat customer of Kia of Muncie.

Living in Maryland I didn’t know of them before reading the positive reviews on this site and didn’t really believe the hype… it’s just a car dealership, how much different can they be? But last fall I was looking for the best price, and after not finding anyone who was willing to beat Muncie’s Costco pricing, I pulled the trigger and placed my order with Lucas on Oct. 16th.

Yes, it was a lengthy process – just under 20 weeks from order placement to pickup. But Lucas could not have been more pleasurable to deal with. He gave me a screenshot of the of the placed order the same afternoon I placed it and kept me informed every step of the way from then on. Once we had an accepted order - and eventually an ETA - Lucas and I spoke or texted multiple time per day as I obsessed over every little detail. Once it arrived on the lot he sent me videos – like, a lot of them! – showing me the after-market work that they did at my request and also walking me through all the various features of the car. Their team went out of their way to make it as easy as possible for me to take delivery as I had been doing everything up to that point all from 600 miles away.

Kia of Muncie may not be the fastest to fulfill your order, but that’s because they have so many customers like me who are willing to wait in exchange for the excellent client service they provide. I can’t recommend Lucas Boehm, @JasonFox, and the rest of their team highly enough; it’s the first time I would ever describe the car buying experience as “enjoyable.”

My specs:
Model: AWD SX (non-P)
Color: Gravity gray exterior, black interior
Additional options: Tow package, mud guards, cross bars
MSRP: $46,180 (includes the ‘new’ pricing that went into effect in Jan)
Muncie Costco Price: $44,864 (before incentives and trade in)

My timeline:
Oct. 16, 2019: Order placed (estimated 2-3 month for delivery)
Jan. 21, 2020: Order accepted (ETA 3/1)
Feb. 12, 2020: VIN created (ETA 2/29)
Feb. 17, 2020: ETA moved up to 2/24
Feb. 19, 2020: Arrived at Muncie
Feb. 29, 2020: Took delivery

We so much appreciate the love. Thank You for sticking with us. Enjoy the Telluride!

Big props to Kia of Attleboro in MA, and especially Marisa. Great buying experience from start to end... and the exact opposite of what I would probably have gotten from Dan O’Brien Kia of Norwood, MA (steer way clear of them!).

No pushy tactics, what you see is what you get. Super friendly and knowledgeable... would send anyone in their direction.

And furthermore... they sell at MSRP vs some of the ridiculous markups that are going around.
Just under 3 months from order to delivery - Black on Black SX!
