If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Headlight Led Upgrade

Did you have any issues getting the Twelvolt’s in? I tried today and Gould not get them to seat deep enough to be able to twist lock the tabs. Is there any tips? Tricks? Or secrets?
One side is easier than the other but I think that has less to do about the bulb. After they lock in place the chips should be facing up. You need to fit them in a little off center and it’s less than a quarter turn. There are a three tabs that line up the same as the stock halogens and the trick is to line them up the same.

Yeah I get all that. I can’t even get them in where the tabs are able to turn.

I got a pair of this latest batch and also can’t get them in. Seems like the tabs aren't positioned quite right.

Brett at Twelvolt has been very responsive, so you may want to reach out to him directly. I’ll post any solutions he comes up with.

Hey Guys,
I hear some customers are having trouble installing our projector specific bulbs on their Tellurides. One tip: apply dielectric grease or even Vaseline to the oring of the bulb (any "lube" will do the trick), it helps slide the bulb fully into the projector and twisting it to lock in. If you have tried this and its still not working. Take the oring from your factory bulb and place it on ours, you already know it works, so why not. If you have any other problems, fell free to give us a shout. Brett and Chelsea are very knowledgeable and have both completed this install on many vehicles. (904)955-9844 or (904)778-5935 Also keep in mind, these bulbs are universal and can be installed in Dodge Rams, GMC Sierras, etc. We have other bulb sizes for other vehicles with projectors, the style has become quite common among vehicle manufactures.

Well first of all, you have a GMC Grill for your profile pic on a Telluride forum. LOL. I will give it a go later this evening and report back here.

Opps, I didn't even choose my picture. I think it auto set from the google settings. I don't even have that truck anymore!

Soooo I got them installed. I think. I changed the O Rings and lubed em up. They’re in and I can see the tabs are in there. I couldn’t rotate them in place as much as I anticipated I would. Are the wires supposed to be straight down?

anyhow.... the lights light and look good. I’ll get a chance to take them out tomorrow night and see if they’re pointing in the right directions.

I will note that the customer service from Twelvolt was PHENOMENAL!! They saw my post and proactively contacted me with tips and suggestions. I was planning on calling them, but they beat me to it.

Awesome!! That's great!!! And yes, the wire in the back of the bulbs should be at the 6 o'clock position (at the bottom). That ensures that the LED chips are facing upwards. Once you get the chance to drive and pull it up to a wall or garage door the beam pattern should look like this picture.

I installed LED's a few months ago. They are awesome and easy to install. There is no comparison to the factory bulbs. HUGE DIFFERENCE!

The photo is low beam, high beam and the front of the Telly. Take note to the spray of light on the tree limbs and in the distance on the high beam photo.

How is it a crap shoot? There is already a thread on this subject. The bulbs I linked fit just fine. "Custom made" is a line the shop is selling you on.

So, question... When looking into LED lights for the Telluride, does the Telluride require the
GTR Lighting PWM Interface Module ( 9005 / 9006 Style Connectors)
or does it not use the electronic interface that this is for? Hadn't see it mentioned anywhere on the forum.

regards

Scott

As far as we can tell from the local installs done here at the shop they have not required it. None of the other bulbs we've shipped across the states have needed it either.

Thanks, they were recommended from Aaron in your shop and I hadn't seen anyone else using them in the forum thus my question. Do you also agree with Aaron's recommendation of the S-V.4 LEDs?

I have the Twelvolt LED’s in my EX. They are vastly better than the stock halogens. I tried others, too. These turned out to be the best. Installed in 4 minutes.
Hi Jerry, I just received my Twelvolt LED’s and want to install them myself in my EX. You mentioned that it took you about 4 minutes. Would you mind providing a quick synopsis of the steps that you took to do this? If I missed a previous thread about how to do this, then my apologies. Thanks

An update, a found a video on YouTube that walks you through how to install LED Headlamps on a Telluride. It’s super easy!

How easy is it to change out the o-rings on these by the way? I won’t be ordering these for about another month or so as my vehicle will hopefully arrive in the beginning of June, and plan on doing the swap right away.

I changed out my o-ring and it was simple. Another trick is to use a pair of pliers to push the light into the socket and then twist it closed with the pliers. This did the trick for me. I also used a flashlight so I could see where to thread it into the socket.

I got what you’d call... big a** hands. How hard is this going to be?
