• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The only thing that my EX was missing were LED headlights. Today, I rectified this issue with an upgrade. My local LED lighting shop was able to install a setup that fits perfectly in the small cavity where the original incandescent sits. I will take some night shots later. The shop is also able to ship these bulbs as well if members are interested.

Call the shop at +19049559844 and talk to Chelsea. I specifically asked if they could ship to memeber and they said they would. The bulbs they use are custom manufactured for their shop. The ones I got were 6000k and are bright as hell.

Don't need to try. I have a brand new set in my headlight assembly right now. Went to the shop to check fitment and everything before purchase. If you want to take a crap shoot on Amazon purchases go ahead.

How is it a crap shoot? There is already a thread on this subject. The bulbs I linked fit just fine. "Custom made" is a line the shop is selling you on.

For me, it is a crap shoot. I like to hold a product in my hand before purchasing. I installed the bulbs on my vehicle and made sure they worked and fit before I even paid for them.

Fair enough.

Amazon accepts returns too (y)

I hope I can change my bulbs on Telluride, my BMW. Cost arm and leg just for daytime running lights..

Pretty good color match with drl

I installed the Amazon LED bulb and I am not sure if I like it or not. The installation was simple and everything fits inside of headlight assembly. I really like that the LED color matchs the DRL very well, but I am not sold on the brightness and beam/beam spread.

It is appears to be brighter than the halogen, but not that much brighter. Where I notice a difference is with road signs and road marking in white. It really pops, kinda light a black light. It doesn’t cast a wide beam and the beam has uneven “dark spots” immediately in front of the vehicle.

I may have to 3D print the dust cover and install a pair of HID bulbs to see if it’s brighter and more even compared to the LEDs.

Jazzyone,
How was the installation simple? Do you need to pull the headlight assembly out to get to the bulb? I thought I only needed to access the back cover to get the bulb out, but it doesn't seem easy as you make it out to be. Searched Youtube for video but the guy in Sedona video took the entire headlight assembly out, that's why I ask... It would be great if someone post the first Telluride bulb replacement video. I'm sure you'll be getting lots of hits with new owners looking to do exactly the same!

It's super simple. Just take the round cover off the back, twist the bulb out and unplug it.

That's hard to believe. Both headlight bulbs refused to budge and didn't want to put too much force. I guess I'll try it again. Thanks for the tip!

Good intel. I have the same bulbs waiting for me to install them this weekend, mostly looking forward to seeing the low beam color match the DRL...more brightness compared to the halogen bulb would be a plus considering I find the stock bulbs to be pretty bright compared to what I'm use to.

I notice the "dark spots" with the stock bulbs already...as long as its not considerably worse. I'll report back with my thoughts.

Such a tiny space to work with... Twisting the bulb was easier when it was unplugged first. Because of recessed space and new LED bulb has cords and circuitboard dangling, inserting it was also difficult. I tried to connect the new bulb, tuck in the loose stuff and then insert new bulb in place, but found it to be almost impossible. So instead, I insert the new bulb and secured it first, then connected the circuit, then tucked in the loose assembly inside... It worked! Thanks Rich06!

So here's summary. I purchased the Amazon 9005 HB3 LED bulbs.
1) disconnect the bulb connection
2) twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove
3) insert new bulb in place, turn clockwise to secure (make sure the 90deg bend points downward, same as original bulb)
4) make circuit connection to the new bulb
5) tuck in the circuit module and wires attached to the led bulb
6) close the outside cover

Great step by step instruction!

Yes, I agree, taking the plug off first make it easier. At first I struggled trying figure it out but a simple counter clockwise turn will pop the bulb out. When reattaching, you’ll need a flash light to align the tabs. Once you figure out how to do it, it pretty simple.

Installed mine tonight, looks great! Matches the DRLs perfectly and look nice and bright. (DRLs are on, just didn’t come out in the pics) Will report back on driving impressions soon.
