I checked out the battery in my SXP and it is a 800 CCA AGM which is a very powerful battery for a 6 cylinder vehicle. You could try leaving the Telluride’s radio on while your home and have access to either a jump start on battery charger. Leave the radio on for an hour or more and see how it starts. I’d bet there won’t be an issue. The question is, will sitting in the car for 30 or 60 minutes with the radio on really drain my battery and prevent the car from starting? If not, please don’t ping me ever 2 minutes with a pointless reminder. I don’t need to waste gas to listen to the radio while my kid’s at practice, or whatever.
My battery discharge warning keeps going off if the windows are open! Nothing on; no radio. Apparently Kia doesn't think I should be sitting in a parked car with the windows open. Super annoying.
My son took my car to a drive-in movie and had just the radio on for about two hours. Was there a "Battery Discharge" warning message every 2 minutes? if not, how did he get around that? I can't seem to get rid of it in my 2021 Nightfall Edition. My son took my car to a drive-in movie and had just the radio on for about two hours. No problems starting.
I think there probably was. But he was with his girlfriend....so yah know.....not really invested in the little warning messages. Was there a "Battery Discharge" warning message every 2 minutes? if not, how did he get around that? I can't seem to get rid of it in my 2021 Nightfall Edition.
The only way I have found to listen to the radio in accessory mode without the annoying beep is, on the center screen go to Settings, Sound,Volume,System Sound,Beep, then move the beep slider to zero. The warning will still come on screen but no beep. I have found radio will stay on for nearly an hour before it powers down. If you need longer just hit accessory again for another hour. No issues with battery drain even after two hours of radio use.Was there a "Battery Discharge" warning message every 2 minutes? if not, how did he get around that? haha, fair.I think there probably was. But he was with his girlfriend....so yah know.....not really invested in the little warning messages. But the car started lickety split!
Actually, nothing was debunked. If I shut the car off with the windows open and don't touch anything (didn't touch the Start button to turn on Accessory Mode or touch the brake), the warning keeps flashing.Already debunked this theory in your other thread.
