• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What are you thoughts on MSRP of $48,044 for SX? my dealer has one

Do you have the sticker to see what is actually included in that MSRP?

Are there dealer add-ons, such as paint protection, VIN etching, other wildly proftible things some dealers like to do that bump up the actual MSRP but are worth zero?

That's a little high.. a fully loaded with prestige is around 47

There are a number of additional accessories and optional equipment that can be added, like floor mats, cargo mat, side steps, etc which might be in the MSRP. Those would drive up the price.

Here's one with AWD for $46k. Maybe it doesn't have prestige package?

$48k seems overpriced.
That dealship is 15 minutes from me. I’m actually going to them tomorrow to talk price. The other one I went to (Easton Kia Columbus ) had $2500-$2950 off sticker but now changed the site to a small discount. I still have a screenshot when the ex was $2505 off sticker. I still plan on waiting to buy till at least the founders incentive comes up. Would be nice to get $5000-$6000 off sticker but I know I will have to wait awhile for that if it’s ever possible.

I'm in Columbus too. Waiting for deeper discounts and founders club offers. Discounts will come.

Asked a dealer in OH about an hour away from me and they wanted MSRP for the Telluride EX AWD. I said no way lol. Not interested in Paying MSRP, although they said if we received a discount somewhere else in writing theyd match it.

Where was this dealer at? I'll know to avoid them then.

Crown Kia in Dublin, OH.
I've been there. Typically they are pretty good. Must be a hot commodity currently. Expected as it literally just arrived at dealers and they only have a few in stock.

Hmm, I was going to check out Crown Kia this weekend possibly since its also close to me. Im attaching my mobile screen shot from the Telluride EX I test drove the other day at Kia of Easton

Also I asked for a better deal via email and they said- "I apologize for not having any pricing emailed to you! Our best price on that Telluride is the $37,890. Also, these vehicles are not available to lease yet. They are only available for purchase. Would you be interested in doing so? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. "

So places ARE discounting them, and theres your proof- they have since taken off the discount online but Im sure they will still do these prices. They told me I could reserve it for $1000 and wait for the founder club incentive to come in to buy. They had the SX model at easton for like $2950 off stickers and theres places in Florida that have the SX for around $4000 off- people posted it here earlier.

I tried that crown when looking for a Stinger. They had a great price online that said dealer discount. After going back in forth, it wasn't the dealer discount. It was all the Kia discounts that were out which some I couldn't use, so of course the price went up from there. After all the Kia discounts were unapplied, their dealer discount wasn't much at all. Deceptive practices in my book.

Did they tell you what the Founders Club incentive was going to be?

So basically these advertised discounts are the loyalty, military, and competitive bonus discounts seen on other Kias.

So the dealerships aren't giving discounts, Kia is. To me that means there will be a lot more room to negotiate in a few months.

No, they didnt know. They were pretty clueless when I was there, I guess I was the first to test drive the Telluride. The car was still in shipping mode, I disabled it. It also had plastic wrap all over it, and the shipping papers were sitting on the passenger side. The sales guy knew nothing about it, apparently the had someone from Kia coming in soon to tell them more about it - this was last week though.

This year I’ve purchased two new kias on a close to home dealer, so my salesman is very friendly. Today he was honest with me. Maybe he could save me a buck here or there with his manager approval, but there isn’t any promotions from Kia directly to the Tellurides until beginning March, when the official launch is. I guess we’ll receive our founder’s emails, as well as build your own will be at Kia’s website. Maybe they come up with a lease program. As far as big incentives, honestly they aren’t waiting to see anything aggressive, at least for the first 4-6 months considering the big expectations and demand around them. I think this is gonna be either take advantage of a good initial lease program, or let Kia cash in the first couple waves and wait for the offers after that. In trading we used to call that “sit on your hands” and patiently wait.

Honestly, imo, surveying the competition, the Telluride is an excellent value at MSRP. Demand will be high enough that neither Kia, nor the dealers will see the need to discount much. A comparably equipped BMW X5 runs near $70,000 sticker, for instance.

An X5 isn’t the same vehicle class, the luxury class is irrelevant to pricing Kia.

People need to get real if they think that. I was a paid consultant to a Korean company for over 2.5 years and the product managers, even those from Korea, aren’t that delusional.

The Subaru Ascent is an excellent value and has the highest IIHS rating from the latest February 2019 ratings and is at the top of Consumer Reports for both brand and vehicle ratings also from this month. Anybody can easily get Subaru VIP membership and pricing for 2% under invoice from the release onwards last year.

A Kia Telluride doesn’t have that rating and fell 6 places in brand ratings. MSRP isn’t going to last regardless of what stupid low level salespeople say.
