• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... It’s snowing balls and I’d like to remote start Black Betty, however, the stupid app never works. Anybody else have issue/fixes with the Kia Access app?

Ours has always worked, but just slowly..you using Iphone?

I had to try it three times just now as I was preparing to leave work. It works sometimes, and doesn't others. It really does suck. I had the Ford app on my last car, and it worked every single time. Not sure why this is so hard for them to figure out!

Yes. iPhone X. It just acts like it’s going to do it for a while then nothing

You probably already know that the Telly needs to be locked. If the doors are unlocked it won't start and it won't tell you why.

It works but is very slow to lock, set temp and start, don’t get in a hurry

Yeah I always lock her up. Not sure just sucks waiting in the cold for the snow to defrost

What he was saying is even if the vehicle is locked and you know it's locked, the app doesn't know it, so hit the lock door command on the app first even though the car is already locked. Then do the start up after that.

I know we have one year of UVO but I find that in some buildings... the signal won't get out to it... Am thinking I may just get an added fob to remote start... It would also be cheaper than subscription for UVO...just to ponder... But..I do like telling Alexa to start it :D

I was going to make the same post this morning. Our first real cold days here and yesterday afternoon it took 3+ tries to connect to remote start before leaving work. Got some snow last night and this morning I sat in the kitchen for 5 minutes trying to connect to no avail so gave up and went outside to start it manually. Extremely disappointing. I swear it worked all summer without issue. Then once it gets cold/snowy it didn't work at all. I will definitely not pay for this 'service'.

I've heard people say they have better access via the website compared to the app. Might be worth looking into logging in the website at work to see if it reacts better. The app takes much longer than it should to open, login, and get to the climate section. Wish they could do better.

Glad to find like minded folks on this issue! I was absolutely shocked when I figured out that I have to use the app to remote start my car. I had a Buick with that feature, which is nice every once in a great while (to start the car even when you are not near it). But my Buick also had remote start on the key fob, which worked fine for the 99% of the time my car was within 50-100 feet of me when I wanted to start it. I can't believe this is not available on this car! I've had the same problems as others with the app not working, being slow, etc. - messing with it for 5 minutes or more trying to get it to start, then I can't wait anymore, so I get in a cold car anyway! I love my Telluride other than this, but this is huge disappointment. But, when I joined this forum, I learned about an even bigger kick in the teeth - apparently Kia is informing Owners (I have not received this notice yet, but I've had my car just over 3 months) that they will have to pay $22.50 (or $25, I've read both) per MONTH to use this horrible app! This is a bait and switch scheme on the part of Kia. I paid for a feature (remote start) that I won't be able to use, because I will refuse to pay that much for an app, even if they could get it working right. We need the folks on this forum to rise up and pressure Kia to get this right. The Telluride is well priced compared to the competition, but it's still a lot of money. For that money, I expect to get the luxury amenities for which I am paying!

I was just hoping the connivence of the app would be just that, convenient. I shouldn’t have to log into a website, unlock/lock doors, spin on my head three times, etc. hell I even walked right up to my Telly and it still didn’t work. I’ll just pay to have someone install a remote starter. Forget the app.

At least that way you won't have to pay the $22/mo or whatever they're going to charge for the service.

That's a major reason I am refraining from purchasing a Telluride. Palisade has the edge on this. Are you listening KIA?

I have had better luck using the remote start on the Kia Owner's web portal. The page refreshes faster and when I tested against the app on my phone it was faster.
So if you have a home computer you want might want to test to see if the web page option works better for you?

We have been having lots of issues. Even Uvo customer support cannot figure it out. Today they told us they would delete our account and we should start over. We are still waiting for them to delete it. We had to send them over a copy of our vin with the sales receipt.

The App is terrible. The Hyundai Blue Link is much better. Not sure why they have to reinvent the wheel. And why can’t we send POIs to the Tellurides NAV system using the App? I can do that with my Kona using the Blue Link App.

In our case we were able to log in to the web portal but we cannot see the car. Kia support still can't figure out why. It is very frustrating!
