We ordered our 2022 Telluride October 4, 2022. We were told 120 days for delivery. We were told we would get a firm delivery date in 6 weeks. Is there an online way to access production / delivery info.
Thanks
Jkenkel
1. Telluride orders start off in a sort of holding queue at the dealership called KDealer.
2. Once a month, usually around the middle of the month, Kia accepts orders from each dealership, which are then automatically transferred into Kia’s order production queue, called KFOS. The orders are accepted in a first in, first out fashion; the number of orders accepted depends on how many slots of each trim level Kia allots to that dealership.
3. Once an order is accepted into KFOS the dealerships will receive an ETA from Kia. This is when the dealership typically notifies the customer that their order has been accepted and what their ETA is.
4. Some time later - could be a couple weeks, could be a couple months - Kia releases the
VIN when the vehicle is almost finished being built. The dealership should receive the
VIN, though you may need to ask them for it. Once you have the
VIN you can start securing financing preapprovals, insurance quotes, trade values, etc.
5. Shortly after the
VIN is released, Failcat.com should (though not always) find it and list the vehicle.
6. Once you have the
VIN you can post in the Track my Vehicle thread for ETA updates from Stephen Cantrelle.
7. 2-4 weeks after the
VIN is released is usually when the vehicle arrives at the dealership. Transport time from the factory to the dealership differs for different parts of the country and what method(s) the vehicle is transported. Delays are possible.
