If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New Member Intro (Telluride Product Planner answering product-related questions)

I ordered the SX with a prestige package May 11th and also included the 400 + dollar mood light kit. now I am reading that mood lighting is included on the SX is this kit a different thing or have I just wasted $400 for something that was already included
Yes it is different, it illuminates the floor board and cup holders. Where as the other mood lights go along the door sills for the front and rear seats

Sounds like you paid for the interior lighting kit. As far as I know it lights up the front foot wells and the cup holders. I asked if it went into the rear cabin at all on a different thread but no one really seems to know.

Not sure if you’re still around or can answer this. We purchased an lx and one thing we wish we had was roof rails. Will the one roof rails from s, etc bolt on to an lx? Does anyone know on aftermarket yet either? Haven’t found anything yet

It does not go into the rear cabin.. (interior light kit)

The LX comes without roof rails as you said. To add roof rails the headliner inside has to be removed to attach the rails from above. I do not know about after market rails. The roof rails from the S will work if you get some.

The Kia Access app dashboard and remote pages need to be updated. It should highlight the state of the vehicle as supposed to the “lock” and “start” buttons are always grey colors. Very misleading.

Sorry that @310TELLURIDER seems to have left the building...

The towing question was the one I was most interested in... hoping that Kia might step up to the plate to correct the equipment to match the advertising - i.e replace the 4-pin with 7-pin and add the brake controller pig-tail to the cabin...

From a lot of experience I find the 800 Customer Assistance line to be mostly useless and unresponsive...

So just to be absolutely clear before I go spending money on a shop to do 3x lock remote start: is this vehicle and the key fob capable of remote start directly from the fob, or is it missing equipment and only capable via Uvo? My understanding is that the vehicle does not have the necceary bypass & RF equipment to allow the fob to remote start the vehicle.

Any clarification on this is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the feedback. Auto-dimming Outside Rear View Mirrors will be considered for application in the future.
The Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), which is standard on the SX and the SX w/ the Prestige Package is a great way to view the blind spots in your intended lane in your instrument cluster (don't have to look at the outside mirrors at all).

Well I'm going to call BS on you being legit. No way a KIA corporate rep would encourage just relying on the dash camera when changing lanes. If I'm wrong my apologies.

Thanks for being patient. Here are the responses for #2 and #3.

2) Defaults to Pacific Time: This issue has been fixed with the latest APP build which was launched this week. The customers who currently have this setting are advised to adjust once again on their APP. We are trying to send an email to these impacted customers.

3) Weather APP: Yes, the APP relies strictly on HD signal.

You didnt answer #1 which has seemingly been one of the more noisy issues from many owners. What is Kia not providing the remote start on the key fob in the same way Hyundai is providing on the Pallisade? The price for the UVO service to include remote start is absolutely insane and way higher than competitors offerings and to pay another $1k to the dealer to install a system with an additional little fob (like my wife is stuck with on her Sorento) is ridiculous at this price point. Is there any plan to provide this or justification for the money grab on UVO?

Agreed, the black look so much nicer then the Canadian rims
Someone may gladly swap you the silver rims. I prefer those over the black ones.

Hello everyone!

I am a Kia corporate employee and started reading the threads on this website to gather reactions/feedback on the Telluride.

I am the Telluride Product Planner so I will try to contribute as much as I can by answering product-related questions.

Thank you everyone that have purchased a Telluride and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed developing and planning it!

Cheers!
Thank you so much @310TELLURIDER for being here. As a fellow Product person, and a huge Kia fan, I am super excited to know that Kia is leveraging forums like this for direct feedback.

I realize there are obviously some things you cannot address and some that you can. I'm going to split my feedback into three categories: Platform, Convenience, and Product Parity.

Platform
  • Drivetrain - It's clear that Kia hit the ball out the park with the FWD/AWD format of the Telluride. And yet there is a desire for more power vs efficiency for the drive train. Many converts coming from other mainstream and luxury manufacturers, are migrating from RWD based platforms. Would Kia consider modifying the platform so that either the 3.3L or new 3.5L would work in the Telluride? Are there any plans for the Kia 2.5L Turbo engine in a Telluride configuration?
  • AWD - Would it be possible to have a true center-differential or even a three way, front-L-R, center and rear-R-L differential on this platform? My understanding is that the Telluride AWD system works by braking the wheel which does not have traction. Is this accurate? What is the difference between the Mojave Master and Kia Telluride AWD systems?
  • Driving Modes - Would be nice if US Market Tellurides could also have Sand and Mud driving modes like our northern-neighbors in Canada.

Convenience
  • Driver and Passenger Lumbar support - Both drivers and passengers can experience vehicle fatigue. And with active lifestyles and long days at work, each Telluride occupant should have a comfortable ride. Can 4-way lumbar support be added to both the driver and passenger seats? How much of a stretch would this be to add to all four/any captains chairs? My Sorento has 4-way lumbar support. It stumps me that the EX and SX trims of the Telluride would only have 2-way. I know there are costs to consider, but the Telluride seems the more likely long-haul, vacation vehicle and is positioned this way. Not only should driver, but the front passenger should also have lumbar support. The K900 has great seats so Kia definitely has the technology.
  • Auto-dimming side-view mirrors - This has been asked for before. Just another vote for this.
  • Remote start and temperature controls - In the US we have many cities and states with extreme weather much of the year. In the North there are many long stretches of below freezing temperatures or super hot and humid weeks in the South. The UVO remote start and temperature options should also be able to individually activate the heating or cooling functions of the front and captions chairs.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto - Another vote for this.
Product Parity
  • Full electronic gauge cluster - The sibling/sister vehicle Hyundai Palisade has this. The Telluride is definitely my preferred vehicle, but yet it is missing this feature at the same price points. Kia has this in their parts bin as well like the 2021 Kia K5/Optima, and I suspect the upcoming Sorento MQ4.
  • Electronic Seat Folding - With Kia already leading the way with a "no hands, no feet" Smart Tailgate, the added convenience of one-touch seat folding would be huge. it completes the story of the busy mom with her hands full coming from the warehouse store being able to load all of her groceries and necessities without using two hands. Please add this for the middle and third row. For product parity the Hyundai Palisade has this.
  • Remote Parking Assist - This would be great for the American market Telluride owners who are often parking their large vehicles into tight spaces. Announced on the Korean market Kia K5/Optima.
  • Smart Parking/Remote Smart Parking - Kia has had Smart Parking Assist for some time now. As the flagship US vehicle, will this or the new Remote Smart Parking Assist that is available on the Hyundai Nexo and Genesis GV80 come to the Telluride?

Don't be super excited about this guy. I 'm not sure how legit he is. Back in April I asked if he had seen the espresso brown interior in person and if the steering wheel was black. He stated that he had in fact seen it and steering wheel was black as shown on the website. WRONG! Mine, just like everyone else's with espresso has a brown steering wheel. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but why would he lie?? Just say your not sure. (n)

This is great, but that person hasn't been around for a long time. No posts since May. You replied to an April post (why???) I would mail your detailed comments to Kia directly.

See following post for contact info.

Thanks @jw_tx21! I was hopeful that a) he was a bona fide representative and b) could provide some useful feedback. I'll send my suggestion along to the address you listed.

Speaking of which, some interesting news in the Telluride front for this Kia family. More details tomorrow. :)
