Order to delivery time

For those of you tracking my story with Kia of Muncie, I took delivery of my Telluride today. She was a bit dirty from the long trip down to Florida and I had to tidy up the interior a bit because Muncie didn't have quite enough time to remove all the plastic and vacuum it out properly. Congratulations! When was your order date. Is it SXP? My order for SXP/T with Muncie was the end of November, so just under 4 months. Hard to wait. Mine will be delivered to Colorado, so glad your's arrived safely.

My order date was September 14. Yes it's an SXP, Dune interior. The wait is worth it.

I was #14 last week with Muncie. We are both pretty close. I ordered the end of November SXP/T

I ordered Nov 25th, SXP/Tow...maybe one of those is mine It would be a shame not be able to get there to pick it up after this long wait Anyway, whenever it comes I'll be happy!

You should be lower/better than my order as yours was a few days before mine. You can contact Lucas at Muncie and he can tell you where you are in line. I think when you are #1 then you are first in line to receive the next distribution of Tellurides to Muncie, which would include your order. I could be wrong, but that is what I think,

I'm also in Fort Collins and talking with i25 KIA. They're saying they have some coming on 7/3 if I want to make a deposit. I know there are probably production delays, but how accurate have their delivery times been so far? They seem to be ahead of the curve with deliver dates.

That's apparently what is happening to me. Ordered 12/10/19. Still on Muncie waitlist. Not in the system yet. So should be getting the 2021, hopefully in 2020! Looking forward to hearing what the changes will include.

I can share my experience. First starting talking to Beau Wenger of I25 kia mid February. I wanted to test drive a sx before ordering. I was told all the incoming units were already claimed. So paid a $500 deposit on February 21st and was told to expect 3 to 4 months. I ordered sx p/t with moss green and black interier. Also I was told the accessories could be added by the dealership except for Towing so the window sticker doesn't list a few items like floor mats . I was told the deposit was refundable and this dealer ship sells at msrp. Other Dealers in the area wanted a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and since I've never even seen a Telluride SX this seemed like a good way of keeping my options open.
I started watching the Telly stats and noticed that this dealerships gets a large number of units. if you look at the total number of units compared to everyone in the country they're like in the top 10 or 15 or something.
On March 4th I noticed on the Telly stats site A SX with Prestige and towing and the correct colors.
March 11th I got a call with a ETA date of April 4th and email with the window sticker with the VIN number that matched what I suspected. Since then ETA days change to April 2nd however with covid-19 and Colorado stay at home order, I have no idea if I can get this Telluride next week or not.

So far Beau Wenger has been helpful returning my calls and confirming my credit after using the kia website. Because of the covid-19 I was able to send a description and pictures of my trade in although I'm still waiting on a valuation.

I think I am very lucky and I'm guessing that I ended up with a unit that was for someone else and then became available. And I think this dealership has the high volume you have a better chance of getting a Telluride sooner than later. Even with all of the uncertainty in business not in the usual way, this dealership has been awesome to work with
I don't have anything in writing about the deposit being refundable but very likely I'm going to buy the Telluride anyway if this is a concern I would ask for something in writing

Which dealership was this? Asking simply so others on here know one to avoid. Any dealer telling you 6-8 weeks (esp. back in Nov) is very clearly lying just to make a sale. Let alone when he knows what kind of backlog is in front of you and how slowly those are being filled...

This was from Capitol Kia in San Jose California. The did provide me with a screen shot of the order number when I asked for proof that the order had been place. But what's the purpose of that number? I can't do anything with it can I?

All's well that ends well?

I ordered an ebony black/dune SXP-T on Jan 14 through Jeff Wyler Kia in Cincinnati OH
Received a build date of March 17...factory closed 2 days that week-pushed the build
Received a build date of Wednesday March 25 factory closed the following Monday March 30 -which pushed the build indefinitely
Received a phone call at 1pm March 31 a customer backed out of a deal on the exact same car except it had a few extra accessories
Rushed to the dealer, closed the deal, drove it home.
Lucky break...I'll take it.
Fantastic car.

Ordered a black copper SX-P, dune interior, tow package, every other bell and whistle I could put on it, on Nov. 29th. Have not heard a word from the dealer, no clue. Called and made sure they didnt forget about me, still nothing.

If KIA would reach out or the dealer, someone say something, your 1001 on the list. Or we could have it in a few months, but nothing. My patience is run dry.

Noticed the prices on the Ford Explorer ST dropped a bit, and that engine is sweet. Telluride beats it interior of course, but I can drive away with an Explorer this weekend. **** KIA

The dealer should be able to tell you how many SX-P allocations they get per month and how many orders are in front of you. This is on your dealer and while everyone wishes Kia was making more SX-P, this is the reality.
A low volume dealer getting 1 SX-P per month and if you are 12th on their list, means you need to wait 12 months. Simple as that. Go find a high volume dealer with a short line or use the tools on this forum to hunt down inbound ones that might be unsold.

That being said, I'm concerned. I might just be unable to read correctly, but is the interior black on this? I had ordered Dune and I'm not seeing where it says it is upgraded to Dune.

Check the right hand column of the window sticker where it outlines the Prestige Packaged added features... for the Nappa leather colors, it usually lists it there.

This is what it is. I don't see any other color unfortunately.
