Order to delivery time

he told me the reason for his call was because I was "next on the wait list" and he had a customer back out and asked if I would like to take that car instead. It's a different color from what I ordered, but same model and add ons. I jumped on it because it beats waiting another 2-3 months.
Satisficing is almost always a better choice than waiting, especially when the wait is unpredictable.
 
Sales person called me last night to let me know he was confident I would get my 22 that I ordered a bunch of orders came out with a delivery date of October. Congrats on the opportunity!! I ordered early March as well but I haven’t gotten any updates. It’s not in failcat or anything.. I’m hoping we get October as well.

I ordered February 28th from Gossett. And was given a “true six months” EVERYTIME I’ve called.

EXACTLY those words!! My saleswoman makes me feel so neglected and like she doesn’t even look for an update. Just says “still on track or I’ll call you when I have an update.” I’m tired of the zero communication, I wouldn’t mind the wait if more effort was put in to reassure us as customers. They might sell cars on the daily and it might not be a big deal to them. But for us that took a risk putting money down and buying a car that we don’t know when we will get? HUGE

Why is it our responsibility to call them? Like I call once a month. She has never contacted me. And same!! No updated and not on failcat.
 
Exciting news, @Go Fast or Go Home ! I was really hoping for a '22 model and have been assured that is what I'll receive. I ordered in Southeast Virginia on 4/21/22 but wasn't notified by my dealer that I had been picked up in KFOS until June. My current ETA from the dealer is several days just ahead of yours (9/25/22) but was cautioned that it could slip back or forward by weeks as the weeks progress. The dealer stated not to quote them but they were confident that it would not go past mid-October due to KMMC likely cutting over their production line to handle the '23 model year. My Telly build hasn't shown up in Failcat yet and the anticipation is building, for sure!
Exciting for you as well that is was picked up so quickly. I asked to make sure that mine will be a 22 since rumors are production for the 23's will start in September, was told they have two tracks, one will be converted over to the 23's while the remaing 22's are being built. Mine has not shown up in failcat either, but don't epect it to until around the 2 week of September, I was given the timeline and shows it should go to paint on 9/11. I remember someone saying on here that the VIN appears on failcat when it goes to paint or comes out of paint.
I hope that helps some. I'm excited for you as well, it's been a long wait but I know it will be worth it.
 
Well, just got the text that my car is being delivered 8/29. Interesting, as I don't see it on FailCat. A little bummed as I had it in my head I would get a 2023 at this point.

Congratulations! I ordered on 3/11 from the same location I believe. I think we discussed this a while ago. I’m hoping I’m next!!

Ordered mine from Jake Sweeney too. I ordered on Dec. 16, 2021. I have been reaching out monthly to my sales person (After being told it would be 3-4 months). He seems to be getting upset with me, but he has not been keeping me informed about anything (Even if it is to reach out on a monthly basis to tell me it has not been picked up by Kia yet). Still waiting to hear from them.
I ordered SX Premium Nightfall in October. My guy said it would be 6-8 months at the earliest. I follow up with him now and then but no updates yet. Now I'm hearing up to a year. Which I get completely...my guy and dealership are awesome.....it's just the demand and supply chain issues. Has anybody received their VIN or updates recently on the current wait time? I'm hearing up to a year but still not sure. Anybody have recent expe3rience with wait time? TIA
 
Just saw my EX on failcat on 8/6. I'm assuming that means it was painted on or near that date. Previously dealer (Luther, IGH, MN) indicated estimated time of delivery would be 9/13. Does this sound right? Seems like a long time from factory to dealer...

Mine was picked up on 8/5 with an ETA of 9/28, build is to start on 9/10, it has not shown up on failcat yet.

For all reading this thread - The VIN is generated as the vehicle goes into paint. The dealer will be able to see the VIN before is shows up in failcat.

It all depends on how close you are to the factory. The further away, different modes of transport are used and can add to delivery delays.

gotcha thanks! that was a typo.. I meant 15 days. I am just a state away so makes sense! Just crazy after waiting so many months with no updates to randomly get a text that says it'll be delivered in 3 weeks. lol
 
Well, the day is finally here! our Telly arrived at the dealership today! We will be flying up Saturday to drive her back!!! Excited!

Ordered my wife's SX Nightfall Wolf Grey/Butterscotch around March 29th. I keep getting the same thing from Gossett South. I wish they were like Chevy and send you an email every time there is a status change with your order. We were told 3-4 months and everytime we call the manager is never there to give my sales guy any updates. We are getting tired of waiting! I ordered a new Chevy Corvette back in May and it is already in my driveway as of last week. Has anyone had any luck with Marcus at Gossett Southn in TN?
