Order to delivery time

Initially ordered gravity gray sx on 2/6/21. Changed order to wolf gray nightfall sx on 2/25/21. Received on 4/3/21. Much earlier than we anticipated but not complaining. Drove straight home from dealer and applied ceramic coating the next day. Waiting 1 more day for coating to cure before we start driving it. Chomping at the bit.

Update:
Called by our dealer and informed the order has been picked up. Provided me with the VIN and at ETA of 13 May. Looked for the VIN on FailCat and do not see it. There are numbers below and above, but nothing matching. Not sure why that is...anybody have any idea?

2021 SX AWD N/T/P Black Copper/Dune Brown
Deposit: 2/27/21
KFOS: Notified Order was picked up 4/5/21
VIN Created: Provided with VIN 4/5/21 but do not see it on FailCat
Initial ETA: 5/13/21

Update:

turns out the issue with the vehicle was the axle and not tires out of balance. I didn’t think it was the tires as it only vibrated when accelerating.

is this a known issue with these cars? Not sure if I should reject this car and wait for another one or let them repair it and then buy it. I don’t know enough about cars to know if a bad axle is a big enough issue that could cause problems down the road even after repair.

So sorry to hear about your issue. Maybe this thread will shed some light? Haven't had the issue myself (haven't taken delivery). Vibration

thanks. I will take a look at that. Luckily I haven’t purchased anything so I can just wait for another vehicle if I want. I will test drive it when they fix it and make a decision at that point. Just worried about it being a recurring problem.

What's up with that trashcan? :o

Wednesday is garbage day here in the Falls. I guess a good photographer would have checked the surroundings before shooting!

Car people, let me know your thoughts...I might post this in another section as well.

Update on my ordered vehicle:

quick summary first...I ordered a telluride in December and a very similar dealer order recently showed up on the dealer lot so I figured I would test drive this one to maybe shorten the wait until I get a telluride. Anyways, on the test drive, I immediately noticed a strong vibration when I pushed on the accelerator. This ended the test drive.

The sales guy just informed me that the issue was a "connection between the transmission and the axle, that caused the vibration, and wasn't evident at low speed."

Now the car did just come off of the transport vehicle and was never put through pre-delivery inspection. I would assume this would have been caught and fixed if the pre-delivery inspection was completed prior to me test driving it.

I don't know much about cars, but is this something I should be concerned about and simply pass on this car and wait for my original order, or is this no big deal?

I would definitely say it is a big deal, and needs to be corrected before you buy it. I don’t know that their pre-delivery inspection would catch that, seems like they normally just look for cosmetic issues.
What’s more concerning is that there have been multiple reports of vibrations, and these cars are individually test driven around the track before they’re shipped out.
It could be something as simple as an out of balance tire, or a big deal like a faulty torque converter or faulty or out of balance drive shaft (that’s what the salesperson thought it was). Once it’s corrected, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Let them resolve it, and make sure you put it through its paces very carefully before you commit to buy. Don’t take their word for it, remember their job is to sell cars.

Car delivered today to i25 Kia in Colorado! Flying in from Vegas to pick it up in 1 week.

Quick Question. Went in and purchased a Telluride from a dealership. They claimed that the car would be here on 4/2 and that I could get it then. Unfortunately, the car was not delivered. They said another week. Another week has gone by and it is still not in. I purchased the car knowing the VIN number and it pulls up in FAILCAT as sold to the dealership. Could I track its status anyway to see exactly where the car is at? Dealership says there is a delay with no ETA. This all doesn't seem to add up to me. Now they're saying it could take months but I have the VIN and its been in FAILCAT for 2 months now. Not sure what the hold-up is? Just a simple Telluride S AWD.

Hello everyone,

I ordered my Telluride from Peak KIA North in Windsor Colorado with a $1000 deposit and will pay MSRP when it arrives. I was told by my sales person that they are the highest volume KIA dealership in Colorado. He said because of that they get the largest allotment of Tellurides which results in quicker delivery times. Anyone have experience with this dealership?

Thanks,
Jerry

2021 SX, Prestige, Everlasting Silver, Dune Brown, Nightfall, Tow, CF, CT, RBP, SPL

2/8 Deposit paid
3/12 Delivery ETA 6/10
4/7 Delivery ETA updated to 6/20

There is a great Youtube video about how Kia puts every Telluride through a test track to test for these kinds of things before they leave the plant:
. Check it out. If there is a vibration it should have been picked up on the track, or possibly occurred if someone test drove it before you came to pick it up. Butch is right; let the dealership take care of it before signing.

update:

as mentioned, I was the first person to drive the car (screen said transport mode) as it just came off the delivery truck. I immediately noticed a vibration when I accelerated out of the parking lot.

I just took it for another test drive after they fixed the issue. Seemed fine to me. If they had driven it at all before I did I am assuming they would have caught it and fixed it and I would have never known.

the sales guy said they hadn’t done the PDI yet as it just came off the delivery truck and would have caught it. It had something to do with something not being connected to the driver side wheel. Was kind of a vague description of what they had to connect/fix. Not sure if he was trying to give me BS or if it was simply that he knows very little about cars and was just trying his best to explain what the service guys told him.

I think I feel comfortable taking this vehicle. I could always wait for another one but not sure if it would make a difference. However, they are low balling my trade in so now I am just waiting on a Carvana offer that was $3,000 more then the dealership offer. I have never used Carvana so not sure what to expect and if they tend to change the offer once they come to pick it up. That is what the Kia dealership told me but sounded like made of BS to me.

I ordered the same configuration in early March and I was told 10 months minimum and it would be the 22 model. I was hoping that it was an exaggeration of wait time... I am guessing it will be accurate.
Wow. I put my order in early March, and they said 3 months. I wonder if your dealer already filled their allotments 🤔

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.
ordered my 2021 sxp with tow and nightfall everlasting silver and dune brown 07/20/2020 and received on 02/03/2021a Wonderfull 8 months

I ordered a Gravity Gray EX Premium Package with Planet KIA in Charlotte, NC in mid March 2021. General Sales Manager told me delivery could be anywhere from 3-6 weeks or as much as 90 days. They did require a $1000 deposit to place the order. I was called within 3 days and told it was picked up as a "Fast Path" allocation and would be ready for me on April 16. I have already been sent a VIN. It's supposed to be delivered to the dealership on the 15th and ready for me to get on the 16th. SEAN DONNELLY (General Sales Manager) and SOL MONELL (Sales Consultant) have been great to work with. Highly recommend. Be sure to let Sean or Sol know I shared my experience! They are a newer dealership in Charlotte and looking for local sales especially. (I live about 20 minutes from the dealership).

Ordered a Wolf Gray SXP on September 15th 2020. Received VIN on March 15th. Arrived at Dealer on March 31st. Picked-up April 2nd. Paid MSRP. Illuminated scuff plates, wheel locks, mud guards, rear bumper protector . No tow package. Van Horn Kia in Sheboygan.

I put an order for SX Prestige with tow on March 13 too, Ebony Black w/Dune Brown. Keep checking failcat everyday to see when it shows up; fingers crossed hopefully it shows up in the next few day.
