After trying to buy an inventory car, or order from SoCal dealers for a couple months, I gave up, and ended up working with an out of state dealer to get an order in before the Founders Club expiration on 4/30. I was told that I could get an order in to secure the Founders Club first payment rebate if done so by 4/30.
We got our order in and submitted at 5:30PM on 4/30 with a $500 deposit. I was given a rough estimate of receiving the car by 6/30, though it was advised it could change... on 6/7, I got a text that the order had been filled and allocated, with an expected arrival date of July 18th (could be a few days earlier). On 6/18 we had a
VIN# and window sticker via text. On 7/11, the car had arrived at the dealership (pictures attached).
After reviewing and negotiating financing/incentives, I received documents via FedEx today, 7/16 for me to sign the contract and send back overnight. They're preparing the vehicle to be transported to me from Colorado to SoCal. I paid MSRP, + $450 in transport fees. We agreed at time of order that they'd cover the first 500 miles, and I paid for the remaining miles at a cost to me of $450. The sale included accessories that totaled about $300 as a gift for pre-ordering. I got the $1500 KMF rebate, and 1.9% for 48 months, and the $1000 Competitive credit. We will see if I can still get the $750 Founders Credit as promised. That comes from KMA direct from my understanding.
I was really unsure as to whether or not this would work out in the end, but it is seemingly moving in the right direction. Once I have the car in my garage, and get the Founders Club credit it will be time to celebrate! I've been eyeing this and the Palasade since the LA auto show in November 2018, and find the value proposition intriguing... 2020 Telluride, SX/P AWD, Moss, with Dune and factory Tow Pkg with self-leveling rear suspension. So these have been built recently, and it appears to be in your situation a dealer issue, or them lacking an allocation. Based on my experience from my chosen dealer, information is available to the dealers, and in turn you the customer. You just need the right dealer, GM and ask for the information. After my experience with our local dealers, the hard part is finding someone as competent as Dane.
