I'm on week 10 waiting for SXP White with Dune interior. No word of any sort yet.I am in love with the telluride from what I have seen and heard and researched like crazy while waiting and I understand it's an all new vehicle and is surpassing the sales expectations, but I think KIA made a mistake of underestimating the sales especially on the SXP thus creating these crazy wait times as well
as give a lot of greedy dealers the opportunity to play with costumers like I have seen using all kinds of excuses.Last time I asked my dealer,he explained to me that our order had been accepted
but it had not been sent to the plant yet and that it was just in queue waiting to start being produced. He also said that the actual manufacturing/assembly only takes a day or two.
Sometimes,I just can't help but think that this high demand low supply stuff has been carefully planned to drive profit up,and I'm sorry if I'm wrong but I am not sure why they don't undertake any improvements in the manufacturing process such as cutting other models production lines to ramp up the production of the Telluride, since that seems is and has been so far very profitable.
I look online daily to find SXP Tellurides and and it is the same result as it has been at least for 3 months or more, still not many out there.I believe it will be very worth it when it finally comes in,but I got rid of my Durango after Transmission failed at just 92000 miles to not risk any other very expensive mechanical failures and expenses as seems to be usual with Fiat Chrysler products when researching online.I have been stuck with a Scion that drives like crap for almost 3 months, only because I really really like the telluride and I guess I will continue to impatiently wait and just hope that the wait time won't be like many others on this forum.I am happy that telluride is being as well received as it has been, but I also believe that it will eventually die down. For a factory that has a capacity of 340,000 vehicles a year, only to produce around only 40,000 just does not seem right to me.Just my 2 cents and my experience on waiting for our much anticipated Telluride.
