Order to delivery time

Just found out that another local dealership is getting another SX (likely this week) that has everything I want other than the prestige portion. Same moss green, but with black interior which is ok. Debating on just scooping that up and not waiting on the order anymore for the prestige....

Waiting is indeed a pain.....i did it.....but it's the P package applied the SX that makes everyone say..."this is an absolute luxury car" for an amazing price!

Just spoke to some moron named Jacob at Kia USA I called to see if they would tell me something I could relay to my dealer in order to get him to produce a request ID. He said there’s no such thing as a request ID. Kid spoke in circles. Really uninformed and disinterested. He said I’ll eventually get a car, which was really reassuring.

Just found out that the only document that I did receive which was a pink carbon sheet which outlined the vehicle I wanted and the $500 deposit I gave the dealership got tossed out with the Telluride brochure my neurotic wife threw out when cleaning the house. We have about a foot high pile of Restoration Hardware catalogues and she tosses out the Telluride brochure with my mountain bike magazines.

Update on order to delivery time. Ordered sxp gravity grey with beige interior on 9/6. Took it home on 11/13. So far we love everything about it. I don’t know how we got it so quick, but I’ll certainly take it. We were told when we ordered it to expect 3-6 months.

I have an SX without Prestige. If the extra options are important to you, you may regret not waiting. On the other hand, even without Prestige, it's AWESOME! It's so individual. Hard decision. Wish you the best whichever way you go. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Put a deposit down on 8/31 for an SX FWD (non-prestige) w/Gravity Gray and Black. No status for months, confirmed order with Kia (had my name on it), etc. Watched a bunch of the same car being delivered to other dealers except mine for months only to be marked up. Finally found one at another local dealer and got them down off their markup and took delivery from them this evening. Back to the original dealer for a deposit refund tomorrow.

Guess that means I will never know how long the order would have actually taken...

Im jealous of all of the people who find their exact car at another dealer. The dealer I purchased from averages roughly 5 cars listed online at any given point. That’s more than all other dealers in a 250 mile radius combined. The only SXs I’ve seen listed are obscure colors or FWD which are worthless in the Midwest.

Oh well, I’m 8 weeks down, only 8-24 more remaining, hopefully, right?

I hear you.The only reason why I went with Prestige was because that was the only way to get the Dune Brown Interior and I absolutely love that color.
It really looks luxury.They had a Green Moss with Dune Brown at the time of our order(August 7th and still waiting) which was a sold order and I fell in love with it.
My salesman did tell me that one of the reasons it may be taking longer is due to the Prestige Package.Not really sure why.I wouldn't think that the Prestige Package would add that much more of
manufacturing time since it should not take that much longer to add those extra features,or maybe it just has to do with priority orders as well as the good feedback and awards that the Telluride
has won so far.Either way,I have made up my mind to wait until mid January to get mine since that is what I was told.Unless time passes and I do not see the VIN by Mid to end December on our very helpful member's (Michell) sheet,than I will be forced to get a different car,but I highly doubt that this local dealer has not ordered because there is no bad feedback on any Telluride related experience with them from other buyers as of yet.There really hasn't been a lot of communication.I guess not all dealers care that much to keep their buyers happy and informed like KIA Muncie does lol based on what a lot of people here are saying

Well, pulled the trigger!! And I love it. Doesn’t have the prestige, but I’m telling you, the grey leather in there looks amazing. I can totally live without the heads-up display and we have 3 kids seats so don’t care about 2nd row heated/ventilated. Tons of bells and whistles in the SX. Can’t wait to get the highway assist going on our thanksgiving road trip. I’m telling y’all, if you find an SX without the Prestige, at least go check it out. The leather looks fantastic. I’ve heard the Napa leather is what is holding back the orders to longer wait times. Good luck to you guys. See ya on the road!!

Rain sensing wipers will also spoil you (first world spoiled, I'll admit). Also, the faux suede headliner is an awesome luxo touch. Got a lot of compliments on it in my Sorento. Did you know such a headliner is a $1,600 option on the new M-B GLS?!?!

$40 buys a nice inverter to plugin to the cig lighter. I couldn’t justify the extra $4k ($2k for awd, $2k for P). I started looking at parts to retrofit an SX non-P with the inverter. Looks possible but I have to do more digging.

My dealer just received a black/black SX-P which is not spoken for. Going to see if the wife is cool with those colors (I am, but we “ordered” white/dune). Maybe the dealer will sell it MSRP.

Dealer contacted me this morning. Finally got an ETA! SXP Black Copper/ Dune ordered 8/22 ETA 2/20. Hope it gets here sooner!
