If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

Just ordered GG SXP w/Dune int 10/24/20. Was given 18-22 week time line from dealership. I know during most of 2020 it’s been a long wait, wondering if it’s gotten better and Maybe this was his “under promise, over deliver” moment...
I think it has gotten better. Since they ramped up after the plant shutdown and filled MOST of the backlog, you should be in good shape.

Looks like yours just came in...any pics with the everlasting silver??
As you can see, it changes colors.

As you can see, it changes colors.
Wow...Tellurides are really just ridiculous. It looks amazing.
I agree, ES takes on a lot of different colors. While shopping around I noticed if it was sunny/blue skies the ES looked sky blue maybe even a hint of purple, when overcast/cloudy, more of a dark bluish grey. Takes on the color of the environment more than any car color I’ve seen.

Interesting information on delivery issues was revealed this evening in a call to my person at Edwards Kia in Council Bluff, IA.

TLDR: vehicles are getting backed up at the railroad delivery -> semi-transport

Deets:
My car was entered into KFOS on 7/15/20. 1st ETA was 11/5. It got a VIN on 9/24. 2nd ETA was 10/23 (as of 9/17). 3rd ETA was 10/22 (as of 10/6).

In between there and today I did have exchanges with my person during which he informed me that there's a gap of knowledge that they (the dealer) have in truly knowing the transit status, particularly in knowing when a vehicle will be delivered via railroad and when it will subsequently be delivered via truck. I was informed that the variance they have seen is anywhere from approx 5 days early on ETA to as much as 7 days later than ETA.

This evening I had a phone call with my person and got some more intel on the process, and issues, which I found really helpful in me just chilling the f out about my burning desire to just finally get this sweet Telly in my hands already, "knowing" it should be here.
  • there is a backup at the railroad delivery port of KC (in my instance)
  • as the factory ramped production back up, the overland trucking didn't anticipate/know/whatever and is getting backed up
  • there are currently so many cars in the holding lot, awaiting truck transfer, that the rail cars are sitting in the station awaiting offloading
  • my dealer is seeing 1 - 3 truck deliveries daily. but on a per-dealer basis this seems to vary. this dealer in particular doesn't see deliveries on Saturdays
  • my particular vehicle has been located on the lot, but it's unclear what priority it has in getting onto a delivery truck
  • the lack of clarity on ordering once in the lot wasn't presented very clearly to me
My person did a great job of explaining all this to me, and I am very grateful to get the insight. It was a 5m phone call at most. In general it sounds like it's a little bit of mayhem going on in the transfer yards (or whatever the proper terminology is for vehicles off-train awaiting truck transport), as factory shutdowns and productions due to C19 had reduced staff on rail delivery > trucks, and now that factory production has ramped back up there's an understaffing issue in arranging / actually doing of the vehicles from rail > trucks.

For now I am complacent in waiting for what happens next. It's amazing what a 5m phone call does to ease one's mind. I thought I'd share for others who are anxiously (like me, who first decide I wanted this car more than a year ago), waiting for their baby.
Mine is stuck at the same rail yard as yours. I feel your pain.

Hi @StephenCantrelle. Any chance you might take a look at the arrival date for VIN 5XYP5DHC7MG127401 with initials CA? I was given an ETA of November 12th 😬🙂.

Thanks so much for all y’all!! It’s been good to hear all the updates and deliveries on the long awaited cars 🥳👏

Name is attached.. Its in transit to dealer.. ETA showing 11-14 as of today

I bought it out of state, so I still have to figure out how to get it registered in my state. I know there will be fees, forms, and a lot of hassle, but that's all I know at this point. But at least I got it!!!

That looks great. GG? I ordered a GG SX last week and have been nervous about the color ever since. Ive had too many black and white cars. Needed a change. GG seemed different than normal “greys”.
It’s a nice color! It was my very close second choice. It’s a deep metallic type of grey, rather than a flat grey. And it’s not so dark that it just looks like a dirty black. I ended up with Sangria, but I just about had to pull straws.

Nice! Looks like its Gravity Gray. Interior Gray as well? Did they try to sell you an extended warranty for the electronics? If so, did you buy and how much?
Yes gravity gray with gray interior. Yes they offered about 5 different extended warranty packages, I didn't buy them and the cost was in terms of total monthly loan payment cost and I didn't do the math to figure out how much that translated to since I didn't really think I needed the warranty.

Yep GG. I love the color. I wanted grey, hadn't seen the Wolf Grey in real life, but knew I like the gravity grey
