• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Owners more than 6 months please share your reviews like how is it like to own a Telluride for daily driving? How has your experience been on road trips? What things would you like Kia to consider in next generation Tellurides? How would you rate your Telly out of 10 for the Looks/Handling/Fuel Efficiency/Cargo Capacity?
We are still enjoying our S model @ 6 months and 6200 miles. We initially took a road trip, Florida to Chicago, a few days after taking delivery and it performed outstanding especially through those Tenn. mountains. Sharp, switchback turns handled flawlessly. We had one close call along the way. Heavy traffic at hwy speeds and an 8 foot ladder is suddenly headed toward us from a pickup. Before I could react the collision avoidance picked it up and started braking. A quick swerve was all that was necessary, very lucky to have that system.
It’s primarily my wife’s truck but as a big guy the seats aren’t as comfortable as my Silverado on a long trip but it’s a minor complaint. The issue we have been having for a few weeks is the rear hatch lock. Intermittently it will not lock. Driving yesterday it unlocked on its own and alarmed. I left the dealer today in a rental. The Sorento had issues with the hatch lock so it could be a similar thing. I’ll keep you posted...

I m loving my S model with 12K miles on it..Took a road trip to South Carolina early this month.very satisfied driving experience..small complain is of the headlights not enough bright which already being discussed in another thread of swapped it with twelvolt led bulb which i will do it very soon..other than that i have no complain..very attractive design and good build.. definitely a head turner...

Great info..so the collision avoidance system led to instant braking? You had to change the lane or the Telly stopped at the very spot?

I really hate Kia for that. Such an expensive SUV and they are still providing halogens..these days even cheap Toyotas provide LEDs

Kane, that's true.. that's the only thing where KIA drop the ball..LX having Halogen is somewhat understandable but all other trims should definitely have LEDs..Thanks to nice after market LEDs which can help us..Do check out the thread on Twelvolt led bulds before swapping ur bulbs..

Will changing bulbs effect the warranty by any means ?

Will changing bulbs effect the warranty by any means ?
I don't think so but i am not 100% sure..if someone can help confirm it. To be honest i highly doubt anyone who don't have SX haven't swapped their bulbs..

Short answer...NO.

Right, but when I open the door to get out the screens and music should turn off like usual by design, but sometimes they don't. Like I'll park, hit the stop button, engine turns off, music and screens stay on, I open the door and get out of the car but then realize the screens and music are still on. It hasn't been just me either. It happened this weekend when my husband was driving. He didn't notice until we started to walk away from the car and I told him he hadn't locked it when I saw the mirrors hadn't folded in. Then I saw the main screen was still on as well. He had hit the stop button, got out of the car and hit the lock button on the door. I had to get in, start the car then go through the normal shut down. But it doesn't happen often enough for me to see any pattern or to even be positive I wasn't imagining it until it did it for him too. I was starting to question whether I was remembering to hit the off button! The engine is off, it's not a safety thing, but it could be a battery issue if it happens in my garage when I get home at the end of the day and don't catch it because I don't lock it in the garage. At this point it's just a quirk I'm trying to pay attention to see if it's a problem or not. It's still early days for these cars, I expect there will be bits of weirdness here and there to be discovered and figured out.
Hope the 2nd generation fixes up all such glitches

8 months owned, 11,500 miles as my daily driver

Telluride for daily driving? It works fine. Gets me to where I am headed and back home.

How has your experience been on road trips? Road fine, comfortable and good mileage for the size

What things would you like Kia to consider in next generation Tellurides? Nothing I can think of that I need

How would you rate your Telly out of 10 for the
Looks - 8
Handling - 8
Fuel Efficiency - 8
Cargo Capacity - 8
8 for any new vehicle is an awesome score!! Kudos Telly

9 months here. Still love my vehicle. 18k miles already. Had an issue with our heat not working properly and the dealer had it for 9 days but they finally got it working. The only complaint I can think of is the fact they I’ll have to start lying for my UVO link in 3 months. Found out from the dealer yesterday that the next model will have a remote start key fob available. Go figure.

So you cannot upgrade to a remote start key Fob?

I'm not sure you can truly rely on that information. @Jason Fox - you hear about this?
It is trending that way but nothing official from the manufacturer yet.

We're at almost 8 months I think and just under 10k miles. Mostly my daily driver, to work just a couple of miles a day and 2 very long road trips to New York from Florida and back. Remote start like everyone else, the app is just too clunky and slow to use on the fly though the scheduled start was convenient at lunch and the end of the day to have it cooled off when I'd leave work. It's crazy that they dont have a built in garage door opener. The sunroof does not open far enough. The auto off *feature* should be something you can disable. Other than those I'm pretty happy with it.

I have been having what seems to be an intermittent problem of it not shutting off when I hit the stop button every time lately but I cant pinpoint what's going on to say for sure it isn't user error but it's getting concerning. I shut it off, the music and screens stay on like normal til I open the door when it would normally turn those off but they sometimes stay on. It's weird and random so I'm trying to pay better attention to see if there is a pattern.
I have the same experience when trying to turn it off.....I thought I must be doing something wrong.

Have had mine since June and pretty much get weekly comments and questions from folks about the vehicle. With winter driving I'm finally getting used to the remote starting app, but have had issues with the proximity sensors going off when I've had ice run down partially covering the circle. I'm assuming that the ice is triggering that issue, but am curious to find out if anyone else has had that happen. Have also noticed some road shimmy when driving in higher wind, but placing a bag of sand in the back has helped with that. Finally, with wildly fluctuating temperatures last week I had some air leakage in one of my tires. After refilling the tire with air it took a couple of hours and a few off and on cycles to get the warning signal for tire pressure to reset. So, my warm weather experience with the car has been a dream, but colder weather has brought out a few quirks.

I still Love my Telluride EX AWD. Owned it since June of 2019. Very quiet, smooth riding, but still not perfect. In my opinion there is no such thing as perfect in the automotive world. Issues I have are,
1. Sound system is mediocre. I'm thinking about doing some work to it this summer and adding a sub and amp.
2. Rear view camera is terrible at night. I changed them out to LEDs and they are still meh. I'm working on a fix for this.
3. This is my fault but, the piano black interior scratches so easily. They have the same material on the side pillars of the car... I have to polish them with wax
4. Halogen headlights are horrible. Can't see anything in heavy rain and other conditions. I swapped them out for diode dynamic sl1 headlights. Still, I needed more light output so I installed foglights.
5. Wish they had puddle lights instead of the weird door handle light. It's preference I suppose.
6. The leather for the EX seems a little too stiff for me. I kinda like the feel of the S model vinyl seats. Perhaps I need to break them in more?
7. I get a weird creak noise when I step out of my car. Can't pinpoint where it is but it's there somewhere.
8. Interior lighting is meh, so I had to install strip lights and bury the cables.

Overall there is tremendous value with the Telluride. All the tech features, ride quality, and my goodness the space more than makes up for my gripes. I don't regret my decision. I traded in my Audi Q3 which I have owned for two years and let me tell ya it's small. I have a special needs daughter that needs the space for all her stuff. The Telluride is an absolute champ for hauling stuff and carrying her around safely. Cheers for KIA's first attempt on the Tellurides first year. I have to believe version 2.0 in the future will be even more amazing.

I have had my Telluride SX since May. About 14,000 miles. I have driven in all seasons now. I love driving the Telluride in the snow. I would give this suv 10 out of 10. It’s absolutely perfect to me and my family. My only request is to add the auto start on the key fob. We live in NH and would benefit from that feature on the fob. Auto hold is my favorite feature.
