• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In anticipation of an an epic 1200-mile journey this fall, I want to make sure I am taking all the necessary preparations with my Telluride. Everything from tire, wiper, and fluid status right down to the Thule bike rack on the rear hitch.

Being an anal Engineer, I always look at contingencies and one of those is possible radiator damage from an errant rock on the interstate. I read with interest all the “fatal funnel” posts and after watching the YouTube, I decided to proceed with safeguarding against this type of unplanned road emergency.

I’m happy to report the successful installation as of this morning. No issues encountered at all, and the whole process took about 20 minutes, even with my OCD insistence that I count holes on each screen to make sure the tie locations were balanced around the centerline. Instead of clipping the long ends of the ties, I decided to tuck them back into the screen to give them a more finished look.

Not only functional but aesthetically pleasing as well. The installation is solid but can be easily undone should I decide to do so later.

We did the same before a 2,000 mile roundtrip to Colorado last month. I know some people say the zip ties look weird or that it's unnecessary, but it seems like a pretty inexpensive way to gain peace of mind. And you have to look really close to see the zip ties, especially with a Nightfall front. When we got home, the screens were littered with large bugs and other debris.

Mine have come in, I think we are going to put them in this weekend before our road trip coming up.

We installed them on my 2021-S too. I don't even notice them.
