• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

Found this on Ebay comes with a T harrness.
Plug & Play Complete Remote Start +Security for 2020 Kia Telluride - Push Start

As anyone tried this?

My dealer is using a local place to install a remote start. It will be a small key fob attached to the key ring. Heard too many bad stories about the app not working and I don’t like having to pay for an app.

Did the dealer pay for the remote start to be added? The app has only worked a couple of times in my area but if traveling to a bigger city with better cell reception then it works fine, but that doesn't help me on the cold mornings when I would like to have a warm car when going to work.

No, but I just ordered it and will report back when I install it.

I found this thread while frustrated when once again UVO failed to work. I have been waiting on the CANBUS module from K5 Optima Store to become compatible with the Telluride, but I am done waiting.

No start button on the keyfob and $22.50 a month for a SUPER flaky UVO app really pisses me off, even more if you want Alexa. It's literally the only thing I HATE about my Telluride and the ONLY thing I miss about my old Acadia. Everything else has been a dream. You ALMOST got it right KIA...

Dealer wanted $450 to add a tiny button to hang from my keyfob, also NOT acceptable.

Fortin and Compustar are decent enough brands, I expect this to work without issue. We'll see. If I like it, I'll be getting the cellular module as well.

We had some icy weather here in Ontario overnight. Tried using my remote start with the uvo app 5 times and would not work. This is the first time it has not worked. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have had the Telluride since early March. Although better, yes, it fails to work all the damn time. My dealer said they were sick of hearing about all the complaints and started recommending aftermarket kits.

Jonathon1102,

That's cool that you bought it. Please keep us informed. Like to know how many splices you need to make. I would suspect a few, but I like that it does come with a T-harness.
Curious if you made an offer or did you pay full price?

Thanks Rick

here’s a link to purchase one if anyone is curious enough to try getting remote start without additional equipment installation to the vehicle. SURELY Kia didn’t actually ship the international models with different auxiliary related equipment... (lol, i’m sure they did)

The other link took me to a "google shopping page"

I'm very tempted to burn $120 on this and see if it works, anyone else???
I'm 50/50 on whether or not the product is legit.🤷‍♂️

I'm trying to find out how much it costs after the free subscription runs out. I made an inquiry over the Kia chat line and got no response there.
Purchased my Telly in July 2019. I had the same question. Kia access is a new app/ subscription service. ( Not sure what to call it) I was trying old that Kia wasn't sure yet how much they are going to charge for the subscription. So hopefully when your free year of the access subscription is up, they will have it figured out.

I believe it's like $250/yr

Look up key programming first, you may need a proper scan tool.

Paid full price. It's MSRP of the Fortin kit. The extra $29ish was for the "T Harness" and the directions that should make my life easier so I thought it was fair with free shipping. They claim "2 to 6 wires" which may very well be true if they just hop on the canbus.

Johnathon 1102,

2 to 6 wires isn't bad at all. Please keep us updated.
I called Canbus and they are working on a unit for the telluride but not sure when available.

I have read on the Kia web site thst the the Telluride comes with remote start as standard as long as you have the UVO app and subscription. When I asked the Kia dealer they said it does not have remote start. Does anyone know what the answer is?
I can start my 2020 Telluride SX with my phone app

UVO has worked flawlessly for me in starting my Telluride remotely. This has been most helpful in Calgary where the high today is -26!
I bought the vehicle 6 months ago and don’t know when I will have to start paying for a subscription. Perhaps by then an alternative solution will have been perfected😊

I just purchased this and will report back after I install it.
Not paying for an app that only work part of the time and very slow when it does.

Phd1026,

Nice that you ordered it. Please let us know how it goes.
I agree the app is not worth the cost it is slow.

Thanks
