• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

Oh okay thanks, I just checked their plans its quite expensive, $22/monthly, much better to have install aftermarket remote start like compustar in one expires, theres also smart app LTE on that brand and $7/month , my friend has it on his honda .

I'm trying to find out how much it costs after the free subscription runs out. I made an inquiry over the Kia chat line and got no response there.

I knew going in I would need to purchase a remote start for my wife's new sx. I live in Shreveport LA and there is a shop here that installs the Evo One by Fortin that allows you to use the original key fob to start the car. When I got mine back it uses a lock-unlock-lock pattern on the key fob to start the car but I also know that it can use a Lock-Lock-Lock pattern on the key fob to do it also. I do not know why the L-U-L pattern was used on mine and am going ask the installer the difference. On Fortin's site it says the Telluride is compatible with the 3x lock pattern and I would find that better with the auto folding mirrors so they would not try to open and close with the pushing of the lock and unlock buttons to start the car. Everything including installation was $450. Just glad I budgeted for it. Makes my wife much happier.
i spoke my certified installer of compustar here in Illinois, he said that it possible to put after market though, if u want to try that one, try it.. very good remote start vs on Viper, it was installed that compustar to my 2018 honda oddyssey I take it off the unit and will transfer to my telluride just bought as well SX 2 days ago, but I will finish first the 1 yr complimentary of UVO services, remote start works for me, little slow like 10-15 seconds before the car starts😂 then once expire the free trial will put that one. By the compustar has LTE app as well will cost only $7 a month,

Mine has start Button, I think all free trial of the UVO regardless of the location has ultimate plan free for 1 yr, then after that need to subscribe base on your preference, ultimate plan cost us $27/monthly, I dont think its a convinient way to spend the amount of money for just a remote start monthly, just saying, planning to put aftermarket one the compustar for $500 installation and the unit, no need to pay monthly just saying, every dollar counts for me 🤗

My dealer told me 5 years. Every year it expires and you just renew it for free for 5 years. I questioned my dealer in it and they said nope, 5 years. So if it's less they will be paying the fee for me!
1 yr only not 5

Looks like I need to buy a key fob in Oman.
A key fob here might cost around $100 to $120. However, its not from the dealer.

Better to put aftermarket remote start instead, stock keyfob with remote has limited range, 500 ft i think, useless still if u need to warm up the car , example the weather is very cold and you are far away like 1 mile or so ... just saying😅

Has anyone bounced the idea around, buying the fob from another region to see if it can be programmed for remote start without additional bypass equipment? Maybe all the equipment is the same, with the exception of the key fob?

Interesting. We’ve got a Buick and they want closer to $30 a month for a data plan. That’s great that they can add something to the fob.

There are 4 different UVO packages available. The low end package is complimentary for the first five years. The other three range from $10-30/mo. If you want remote start included, it's $22.50/mo or $225 annually.

Black SX Prestige w/ Dune interior.
Congrats! Looking into ordering one, and that is currently my top choice combination, but have not seen the dune brown in person. How do you like it?

I just joined this forum. I am also confused. The dealer and calling Kia did not provide me with a straight answer. Here is my question too. I was on a Kia site that stated
"Yes, the 2020 Kia Telluride comes with standard Remote Start through the UVO telematics system. UVO is a subscription-free OEM infotainment and telematics service provided by Kia on select vehicles. It comes standard on the 2020 Kia Telluride, so any trim that you buy will come with this convenient Remote Start capability!" If this is a standard feature and "a subscription free OEM" as stated, I would think after the 1 year trial the app would still have the remote start capability????

NO. You have 1 year free subscription. You have to renew your subscription after your 1 year expires.

That is what I was thinking. I believe only regions outside of North America have the key fob with remote start built in. Was planning to look into this now that I have the rest of the year off on PTO, will let you know what I find (might be a dead end) let us know if you figure anything out.

Think of it like Satellite Radio (Sirius XM)....your car has the capability (built-in/standard), but you need the subscription to make it work.
Good point. That makes sense to me. Still a disappointment! Lol!

make your money, make your money, make your money.....'subscriptions" are what it's all about today! Seems if the 'pay once and done" days are done forever!
