• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Retrofit EX with SX LED headlights

I am vouching for Machtig. The harness is a great fit and no issues since purchasing in November. Best aftermarket mod to the EX and below models.

I have a used SX led headlamp enroute. Once I have it I can figure out the SX headlamp interior wiring and make the plug and play connectors. My only concern is whether or not the SX headlamp will trigger a lamp fault warning on the EX. I don’t think it will based on numerous folks swapping their incandescent bulbs for LEDs in the EX headlamp. But we’ll see. I think the SX headlamps turn signals are incorporated into the amber light ring so that may also be an issue. We’ll find out soon enough.
I guess my question has been answered. Does the EX AWD have the Amber lights. NO?

Did you just install amber lights on your EX!!!! The EX AWD is my price point, but want the Amber lights.

Unfortunately, the amber halo lights are built into the SX Dual Led lens housing. The EX projector has white only.

In regards to buying a new 2021 EX, the amber DRLs with LED headamps can be had when optioning with the Premium package.

This thread is about taking the headlamp assembly from a used SX/EXP, bought from ebay, and installing on a lower trim Telluride (EX, S, LX). It isn’t directly plug and play unless you use a custom harness like the one machtig fabricated and is listing for sale.

Ordered my SX lights yesterday off eBay. Found a seller that was quite communicative who had a practically new set. He was selling them separately but discounted the total for both to $590.

Now I need @machtig to take my money

Ensure the lights have the headlight adjusters, LED drivers and all the parts. and are SX LEDs. That sounds too cheap. The first set I bought didnt have the headlight adjuster so I had to ship them back.
I emailed you.

Yep, SX — new takeoffs. LED modules, the ballast mounted on the back of each, and the adjusters.
I didn’t receive an email. I’ll shot you a direct message with my email.

If you’re buying on eBay, there are a few things to keep in mind as you search:
- Make sure you’re looking at SX (EX-P) lights. I know it sounds silly, but check and double-check. Most sellers won’t indicate the trim, so you’ll need to ensure that the photos are of the item they’re selling and not a stock photo.
- Ensure the levelers/adjustment (white in the photo) are attached - this is crucial! I fashion myself to be a self proclaimed guru of part searches, and my excursions have found that the leveler is not sold separately. Once again, check the images. Just because it’s an SX/EX-P light doesn’t mean the levelers are on the back. For some reason, some are missing them. Also, some eBay sellers only have pictures of the front. Do not buy without verifying the levelers on the back.
- You don’t want cracked lights! Ensure the housing is not broken and that all tabs and mounting brackets are present.
- If the housing is scuffed, ask for a discount! There’s nothing wrong with a small scuffed light. If it’s a little scuffed, simply buy a headlight restoration kit (preferably one that attaches to a cordless drill) and use it once the light comes. It’s infinitely easier to buff and polish headlight housings when they’re not on the car!
- If at all possible, try to purchase from the same seller. Sometimes a seller will offer a significant discount if you buy both right and left lights from the same vendor. In my case, the seller had the lights listed for $450/each. When I messaged them and said I wanted both sides, they dropped the price and offered a coupon for $595 shipped. I also sent pictures of levelers on the back and they confirmed they were attached before shipping.

One of my lights came a little scuffed and scratched. I don’t know how I missed it. I couldn’t just buff it out with ScratchX, rubbing, or polishing compound F9275A9B-8493-4AAD-B8F4-C3596BA4152A.webp

I bought a 3M advanced headlight restoration kit ($13.14 from Amazon), $12 corded drill from Harbor Freight, and 3M headlight clear coat ($4.99 from Amazon) to tackle the job today.

I have plenty of cordless power tools, but for the amount of sanding, buffing, and polishing needed, I found myself cycling through my 3 DeWalt batteries every 20 minutes. A 20 minute trip to Harbor Freight for a corded drill eliminated the downtime and expedited the restoration.

Should apply a new coat of UV protectant to prevent it from getting hazy/yellow.
