• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have the LX wheels and gravity gray telluride. Was looking to get black rims. Any recommendations? Plasti dip?

I had the S rims powdercoated. About $600 and a few days without the car, but Covid and the kids home for school made being without the car easy. Some people on her have done solid work using plasti dip. The new, Hyper dip seems to be and improved option for the rims as well. They have some videos on Youtube that show how.

Do you recommend it? How long does it last? Would you have to do it again like every three years?

The powdercoated should last as long as you take care of the. They strip the wheel down and the spray them. They have held up great. I have used the hyper dip to black out all the chrome on mine and love it. There are some areas that I have had to touch up, but for the cost, it is worth it in my opinion. But honestly, for the cost, powdercoat on the rims at a shop would be my suggestion. This was just after the rims were done

Why not Cerakote the wheels?

Prices have come down and it's a stronger, thinner ceramic-based coating that's considered my many in the industry to be superior to powdercoat.
