• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... When my new Telluride S was just a few days old I noticed a screw stuck inside of the drivers headlight assembly. Anyone else experience this? The dealer refuses to look at photos so I need to drop off the car for a full day of "service"!!!

From the road you mean? Shot thru the lens while driving? Or a manufacturing defect?
These things can happen. Had to plug a damn tire with 300mi on it last year. If it's not from the road dealership should get you a new one for any defects. GL

Mfg defect... looks like it's stuck right inside where the perimeter of the assembly is sealed. I tried a strong magnet w/o any movement so it's stainless steel or stuck really well!

Damn someone got overzealous on the assembly line! Lol Pita but they should be able to take care of you just gotta jump thru the hoops.

can you post pics???

I though I added pic.... here goes again - screw in bottom left corner of headlight assembly. Looks like #8 or #10 and stainless I believe.
I tried adding pic.... won't let me... it's now a 100k png or jpg... still won't post!

The dealer needs to solve the problem anyway, I'm not sure why the dealer not accepting a photo is a concern. They'll need to figure out how to solve the problem, probably removing the headlight assembly and turning it upside down to get the screw out... possibly trying to solve the mystery of where the screw came from, etc... photo won't really help them much.

True ----Will you accept a photo of a new headlight assy as a solution?? ;) 🤞:ROFLMAO:

I'm really upset with my dealer.... they would not accept the photo..... I need to leave my car there all day.... guessing 90% chance they don't have the headlight assembly in stock. Perhaps I can get some little Kia emblems to stick over the loose screw. The $64k question is where does the screw really belong?

The dealer may not need a new assembly to resolve the problem. They should also investigate where the screw might have come from, etc...

I get that you are angry to have such a issue with your Telluride, but I'm not sure it's reasonable for you to expect they have a new assembly ready to install for you before they've had a chance to look at the vehicle.

I expected them to just look at the photo..... they refused to even look at the photo!

They can't "bill" KIA for looking at your photo to pay for shop time. Not you're concern I agree but they've got rules and policy to follow to keep the profits moving. You'll get a new housing. I would reject anything less. Looks like it's located in the sealed housing and won't come out without opening it up which you do not want. They should swap it out for you under warranty.

That looks to be one of the many screws that secures the inner bezel to the lens. I’ve had my SX ones apart. There are A LOT of screws within the headlight. From a troubleshooting perspective it would be faster to just order a new assembly. Not to mention trying to get that screw out without removing the lens risks scratching tf out of the inside. Hope that they get that taken care of for you timely.
