• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Truxx Lift with Self Leveling Shocks

Scott, I owe you beers my man! You saved me a bunch of time and money. Thank you.
:love::love:. I was thinking about this today. Looks fantastic!! Those Les Schwab guys are awesome. I'm a customer for life after all this. Glad it worked out.

LoboinCO97, based on your post I made an appointment with Les Schwab up the road in Lafayette and asked the manager (Josh) to call Dillon in Centennial for details so I could have the same fix. He told me Dillon said the fix was to install a spacer that was never installed the first time and that he wouldn't be able to help me because even if I found the missing spacer they don't install carry-in parts. (I don't know if the spacer was installed and don't remember if I took home any extra parts that day - it was over a year ago.)

Can you elaborate on what the actual fix was? It kinda seems to me some wires are getting crossed.

@LoboInCO97 What's the actual fix, sway bar adjustment and/or spacers?
I have an install scheduled for Friday and want to make sure my installer does it properly.
Thanks for getting to the bottom of this issue!

attached what seems to be an updated instructions compared to a previous one I saw in this forum.

I read this whole thread. Was a final solution figured out? Im trying to catch up on all these threads as im just now starting the research to see what all is needed for this lift. Thank you

I think the kit is solid and finding a competent installer who will read the instructions is your number 1 priority.

Thats what i took away from it but couldnt figure out if it was decided that some type of extender was needed and if you use the bars/links that were provided.

Yes, my installer used the extensions that came with the kit.

are them the same extenders some were talking about for the self leveling shocks? I was reading that some were concerned the shocks were now extended out 2 inches from their regular extension due to it being a 2inch lift. Maybe i was just misunderatanding though. Sorry, just trying to make sure i understand it all before i put something on a brand new truck and ruin it/cause damage from something i dont really need but just want lol

Based on my understanding of how the self leveling shocks work, and how the 2" lift is done... I don't see how it would ever work well without extending the shock.

Thats what im confused and a little worried about based on all the different posts covering this.

if a shock is suppose to sit at a specific position, but then a lift is installed extending that shock 2inches from that original position, would that hurt? Thats what i take away, unless im just totally confused and wrong

In the last month, I have worked with two different Les Schwabs, AeroSuds (who installed the lift), I25 Kia, and Darren (owner of Truxx) regarding this issue.

Our working hypothesis is that the lift kit is compatible with all Tellurides with standard shocks, but NOT those with the self levelling shocks that come with the tow package. For these, the rear will sag 1-2" (when measured from ground to bottom of fender at front and rear tires). In my case, it took a few weeks after installation for it to occur.

The good news is that Darren is designing a strut extender to resolve the issue. He does not have an ETA on when it will be available.

I am keeping a close eye on this and will keep this thread updated as news develops.

Feel free to chime in on whether your experience fits this hypothesis. If you have the lift kit installed on a vehicle with self levelling shocks and it's still level (< .5" sagging), let us know which shocks you have (perhaps we have to modify the hypothesis if there are different shocks involved). In my case the model number was clearly visible when I peeked under the car (55367-S9000).

I'm intently watching this. Waiting to purchase the lift for my SX-P until this issue is resolved.

Same. I am thinking of buying right now just because its on sale. Not sure how long it will stay on sale. Maybe buy and just hold it until its all figured out. Truxxx emailed me this morning saying not sure what all the talk/concern is and as long as the directions are followed, there will be no issue. But then i see these posts. I have a 2021 sx p nightfall. I want to keep the nightfall 20” rims. I want the same set up/look as twincam23

I'm 2 weeks in after my install. My rear is about .25" lower than the front.
Measured from the ground to bottom of fender. I'll measure again in a couple of weeks.
Picture of my left shock added for reference.

Darren from Truxx must not have communicated the latest news to his staff. I have a text response from him from April 21 acknowledging that he is working on the strut extension. If I were you, I would hold off (I'm assuming you have the self levelling shocks).

Here are my measurements (EX w/18" stock tires). I had the lift installed in Feb 2020.

Driver front: 33.625
Driver rear: 32.0
Driver diff: -1.625"

Passenger front: 33.375
Passenger rear: 32.75
Passenger diff: -.625"

Not sure why the driver rear is sagging a full 1" lower when compared to the passenger side. That adds a level of complexity to this whole thing. The company that did the install (Aerosuds in Broomfield, CO) re-evaluated the truck a few weeks ago and suspected either the coil spring or the shock had failed due to stress imposed by the lack of a strut extension included in the lift kit. My plan right now is to wait for Truxx to release the strut extenders, get them installed, and then see where we're at.

I wonder if i was to buy the kit now to get while still on sale and just hold in to it, would they throw the new piece in later after its figured out.

here is what the email response back i received from truxxx this morning after i asked about the possible problem and need for extenders maybe:

“Not sure what was going on on the forums, some people did not understand the rar shock and installed the kit wrong....lots of people do not tread the instructions ;-}”
