• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... UVO Expiring Soon

Remote start is great for pre warming up the car on those cold mornings and before the drive home at night. Make sure she hits the lock button first, then remote start and hold it for 3 seconds.
thanks...i ended up looking it up in the manual and tried it tuesday evening...worked fine but i didn't test it from a distance...i doubt it will work for my wife being in a concrete school with her car parked no where near her classroom...in the morning the car is parked in the attached/insulated garage (not heated) so it stays warmer so there is no need to use it in the morning...nice to have but i doubt it will get too much use

These auto companies must think people are nuts. I can get Netflix and UVO for the same price, WTH. They should be charging more like 99 cents/month with an option for $10/year.

And Apple TV is even cheaper!

Not true. My nav works perfectly fine without paid UVO subscription. Paid UVO is only for internet assisted POI searching/routing and internet assisted voice recognition.

Nav/POI
Still works without paying if you are fine with pre-loaded map data. (ie. equivalent of Garmin gps device) Only time a lot of people would use on-board nav is when they find themselves outside cell service range for using smartphone nav.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for this. UVO rep just told me that ONLY the Ultimate package included Navigation. I just renewed at the second tier Plus level and she told me that navigation would be DISABLED unless I paid for the top tier Ultimate package. Oh boy am I pissed.

I never got any promos and my subscription just expired. Anyonw get a code?

OK, so I changed my subscription and paid the rediculous fee for one year of "Plus" as a downgrade from "Ultimate". AAAaaad the weather app quit working. So, I called KIA UVO support and they said, "THe weather app is only available in the Iltimatea package. Our web site doesn't accurately reflect the features of each plan and we are having difficulty getting te vendor to update the site".

WHAT A CROCK. Their plan prices are outrageuos to begin with and then they don't even gove features many other brands supply for free.

I would like to ask everyone to call, as I did today, and express your extreme dissatisfaction with the UVO service and excessive fees. If they get inundated with calls, maybe they might listen?

I wish they gave the remote start as free, I could care less about the rest of the stuff. It sucks that Hyunadi gets 3 years for free but Kia only gets 1. I also noticed that the distance on the Kia fob sucks probably the worst out of others that I have used.

Just spoke to Jordan with Kia UVO customer service and he says Kia rarely offers discounts on the UVO packages. However, if you're interested in the remote start function only (like me) you can do the month-to-month plan and cancel whenever you like. I'm probably going to sign up for 3 months a year as that's all I'd really use it for.

You should be able to dicker with them like you can with sirius xm. I just tell them I want to cancel and they should get you a better price.

I've been getting notices for 3 months that UVO was expiring (yesterday). Not ONE offer to renew at a discounted rate. Today is my first day without full UVO, so I'll see if I notice a difference. I don't use the navigation, I use Wave, and I've never called for assistance, so I don't think I'll miss it. But why wouldn't KIA offer me a discounted rate to renew? They don't care about customers after you have bought their car. We all just need to quit subscribing to see if they offer for free because no one will pay for the service.

On principle DO NOT pay for this garbage that even GM give away free. If we stand together and refuse to pay for this crap they will stop. Vehicles as a service is just as bad as every other “as a service” offering but worse. Kia folded and gave us the remote start on the FOB after one model year due to the backlash from customers after pricing for UVO was announced. It’s not good, it’s not worth money, it’s slow, and it’s predatory. You can say it’s only $12 so like 2 cups of coffee but if you own the car for a decade that’s $1500 additional dollars for remote start. You can have that installed for $300 that uses the factory remote that’s faster and better than UVO ever will be…taking 5 mins to lock your doors is laughable.

It's been my experience that if you don't ask, you don't get.

I asked for a discount when mine expired in Sept. They told me that there may be something around Christmas but they really had no clue. I told them I wasn't going to renew and they basically said, "oh well".

I wanna say the ultimate used to be like $279 a year and they reduced the price sometime in 2021 and will no longer offer a discounted rate. That's my best guess but only a guess. I did end up renewing eventually, I'll let it ride another year I guess... In the future, I may just subscribe for a few winter months if I know I'm going to use it a bunch.

Price for a year of Ultimate is still $297. I don’t think it ever changed since the Telluride first came out. They just offer random discounts to owners at will. Used to be around the time the trial period is about to expires, but sounds like they stopped doing that.

Mine was $199. That's what the website said when I signed up, wasn't a discounted price.

Just checked prices to upgrade after logging into my owner account. It does have different pricing after logging in. $14.99/month for Plus and $19.99/month for Ultimate. Maybe they don’t update the public web page anymore.

That would be very on brand for Kia's website.
I pondered whether I'd renew for some time before my trial and for a few weeks after. It was $199 from Aug-Oct every time I looked. I was waiting out a discount on that price.

I just checked the yearly price for Ultimate and it's $199. The monthly price is $19.99. There's a box that says check for discounted yearly rate.

Living in a cold weather climate, the remote start is really nice. It's hard to live without once you've had it. A real first world problem.

Anyway, my UVO subscription expired in July 2020. I just recently renewed the Plus package at $15 a month, for December - March or $60.

I'll skip eating out once during that time and everything will be back to even Steven.

I'm so disappointed with the Uvo experience and pricing. I feel like we've been mislead by Kia. I took my Telluride to my local Kia dealership today and asked them if they could give me a key fob option. They said it's not available on the Telluride and that I have to use the Uvo app/fee. It's ridiculous that customers who buy Tellurides are forced into this expensive price and poor service. They allow other vehicles to have key fob remote start but not Telluride?

Can we team up and sign a petition and put pressure on Kia leadership? I want them to to do one of both of these things: (1) allow Tellurides to get key fob remote start for $200 or less. (2) Create basic remote start Uvo price tier for $1-$3 / month.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!!
