What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I have placed an order for an SX (not prestige) but didn’t put down a deposit so told my dealer to let me know if they got one in before. They just emailed to tell me that they are being allocated an SXP with dune interior. I told them the prestige was above our price point. He said he would be around $53k!!! I feel like that is way over msrp. I ordered my car based on Kia website’s msrp so now I’m thinking they are going to try to price gouge based on “demand”. I know some dealers are moving away from charging more than msrp. $53k is high for an SXP right??
Yes. MSRP would be around 47-48k for an SXP. Tell him to get bent.

Thanks! We are prepared for $45k for an SX non-prestige but when he threw that number back, my jaw dropped. I did just notice they have an S listed on their website for $40,500 and the msrp is listed at $37k so they aren’t even trying to hide it. I just told him we are basing our purchase on the msrp listed on Kia’s website.

Yes. And considering many of us are waiting MONTHS for an SXP that we ordered, asking for over is just a kick in the teeth. Greed is a powerful thing. I told a dealer when I was on the hunt to “have sexual relations with his mother” when he said $56,000 for an SXP on his lot.

Hahahahahaha! Yes and I’ve seen the car I ordered at other dealerships far from me (on cars.com) for msrp and below but Kia isn’t allowing dealer trades. It’s so f’in frustrating. They really dropped the ball on production.

MSRP minus any incentives. i.e.- kia financing for 48 months @1.9%= 1500.00 back to me plus an additional $500.00 incentive.

Right. I’ve built the car online a lot to see how inventives change but so far, the msrp has stayed the same. We are looking into a 36m lease so incentives are different and we own a business and will be buying it for that so I’m wondering if there are any incentives for that.

I don't believe it is possible for Kia to disallow dealer trades because once it leaves Kia, the dealer owns the vehicle. My local dealer has already traded a couple Tellurides.

More likely, dealers have no interest in trading these.

As for the price of an SXP, I got mine for $42317.00 after discount and incentives. At $53,000 you would nearly $11,000 behind the ball. Ugh

interesting about the dealer trades... I’ll have to ask another dealership about this..

Dealer trades happen, however they have to give them one that is similar in order to do it. If they don’t have it, the other dealer could tell them to pound dirt.

That's not actually true. I once had a dealer trade a Challenger R/T For a Charger SRT for me. It really just needs to fit what each dealer has a want for. Then they negotiate their terms.

Well, true, but I meant similar in price point/profit margin

Dealer trades can be for which ever car or even in cases money. When I worked in the industry I helped out a few times, once was sent with a check to pick up a car, another time it was a Mercury Grand Marquis and a check for a Ford Edge, had cases where the dealers would swap an allocation for a car even. Still it all is down to agreements between the dealers, and even chances dealers not wanting to swap cars. In regards to the Telluride, a NJ dealer I was at upfront told me they're even price gauging on the dealer swaps.

Wow, that looks like a solid deal. Would you mind sharing how you achieved that price point? What type of discounts/incentives you were able to use, etc?

$200 off invoice, $2,000 3-yr balloon financing and $400 military rebate.

This was before all the dealer games started

I had a “S” on order for $37,800 (fwd), that’s out the door. 2 months waiting and still no ETA. A awd S came in to the dealer and he gave it to me at MSRP. $41,000 out the door. Is that a deal... NO. But considering I’ve been looking for over 3 months and have seen 2 for sale at MSRP I don’t think it was terrible. It came with floor mats, cargo net, & wheel locks for the accessories. They through in tire rotation and 2 oil changes (big deal, I know). I would’ve felt better about the deal if it was 39k OTD. But at the end of the day is 2k worth waiting months?? Maybe... either way, I’m pretty stoked it’s in my drive way.

As an FYI, I spoke at length with Costco Auto Service this morning. There is NO program in place for the Telluride yet, and likely won't be till the novelty wears off. They're getting tons of calls about it. If a dealer tells you you're getting a Costco price, he's likely doing it on his own.

Without the Costco-specific "deal sheet" it's not the negotiated deal, and they say that none exists for the Telluride yet.
I am not sure this is true. I went through the Costco website. I was put in contact with the sales rep listed on the Costco website. I received the deal sheet from Kia of Muncie in Indiana. Seems legitimate to me.

The Costco program is dependent on zip code, I tried 3 zip codes I live and travel to, none had a Program, so I took a Muncie zip and ran that, it did come back with a discount program. So probably good idea to move the zip around, maybe try different state nearby.

We paid $44k out the door for EX AWD with the following options. We also purchased separately the tray which I kinda regret. 🙄 lol4B95A7C9-97E0-4511-B877-0BC3D712D0A4.png
