What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I am in California and am not willing to pay MSRP let alone over. I haven’t lost perspective: It. Is. A. Kia.
As mentioned, I will walk away from the telluride if I can’t find a reasonable deal.
I have now seen some reports of good deals, it was a lot going through over 500 posts here. But are there any first-person reports paying over MSRP here, or are all of these reports second-hand? Again, are we being played? 🤔

Do you mean paying under MSRP? Given that many people here are including manufacturer discounts as "under MSRP" the majority of people are paying at MSRP or higher from the dealer's perspective. Absolutely, it's a KIA, but KIAs are now a pretty great brand, and have really great standard warranties in comparison to a lot of other companies. The problem at play here is simply the market. Dealers are not stupid, and will sell to the highest bidder, why would they give you a good price when they can make thousands of dollars more selling the commodity to someone else the next day?

In short, KIA hit it out of the park with a vehicle that has luxury feel and features at a price where demand is crazy high and they are simply not building enough of them. Basic economics. I am equally frustrated but until the economic factors change (more supply, less demand) reasonable prices are going to be hard to come by in heavily populated high income areas.

You're not being played. Simple economics. Nothing more or less. The value of something is established by the market it's serving. It's evident the market is setting the value above MSRP in this case. Dealers are seizing the opportunity. No different than bidding wars in certain housing markets. In time, the advantage changes from seller to buyer. Make a list of the things that you feel are negotiable and attack those levers hard. (interest, cash, relationships, past business, services, perks, accessories, dealer fees, etc.) Enjoy the ride.

This is incorrect. To receive the Competitive discount you have to be the register owner to qualify. We run what is called a TWIX that shows you are the register owner and submit that to Kia with the paperwork for the rebate.

If you have a family member or friend who has a competitive car that is 2012 or newer then they would have to co-sign and be on loan.
Good info to know, I guess we were lucky as our totaled Terrain must still be in our name. I was told by the dealer that we only needed the VIN.

Likewise if yo

correct the Terrain getting totaled takes some time to get taken out of your name.. they use the VIN to pull the TWIX.. print the TWiX and submits with rebate.

Just sharing another example from the latest offer I received on an EX today. I removed the dealer name from the snapshot, since I’m not trying to call out any dealers.
I don’t qualify for the military discount, so not sure why it’s listed. Anyway, i don’t plan to wear out this topic. I’ll let the Telluride excitement wear off, or move on to another vehicle... maybe even the Pallisade

Matt Taylor Kia. If you are interested message me and I'll give you details. SX prestige is what I ordered but you can't order it anymore.
Can't send PM for some reason. Maybe i just have to post more to get that feature released. I'll contact Matt Taylor Kia....while I would like Prestige I also like $ in the bank.

My guy is working on 38500 OTD (including 1000 conquest and 1500 financing). Sales tax is around $1600.

EX FWD, no tow package. Still high but the best price I've gotten anyone to agree to so far. :/

If you ask me, sounds like a rip-off. Even with the tow option and AWD that's over priced.

Yes, it feels like a rip off to me. It is an EX without AWD but does include towing. I replied to the dealer I wasn’t interested in paying over MSRP and received this in reply:
“It is kind of crazy right now for the Telluride!!! I have been here 14 years and never seen a more in demand vehicle. It will change down the road once the frenzy is over, I can assure you that it is all it is crack up to be! Check back later in the Fall and it should be back to normal...”

So, when dealers are willing to give up sales at MSRP, that’s a problem. But I’m not biting! 😗
Id still be curious to hear from someone who did pay thousands over MSRP.

Wondering about expectations for price off msrp—my dealer is now taking orders but will only do it for msrp. Any ideas about negotiating price or expected rebates/incentives? Are other Kia models discounted much?
We purchased our moss green/black interior SX AWD Prestige (w/o towing package) in Woodbridge Va for $43900 (after 2500 incentives).

UPDATE: My car will be arriving on 6/27. With the help of Stephen C. I was able to locate a car with the same exact specs I ordered factory allocated to a dealer 2.5 hours from me with an estimated arrival of 6/27. I called them and said I wanted them to match the above offer from my dealer. They initially declined and said no one is discounting these vehicles and they couldn't match the trade in value. Turned out, they have the same ownership as my dealer! Lucky for me, my dealer's GM called theirs and they worked out a trade. If I didn't look and find that the car was factory allocated to the dealer 2.5 hours from me, I would be waiting 6 months longer than I am I believe. And luckily it wasn't pre sold already. Very lucky and thankful! Still no VIN yet, but estimated arrival is 6/27. I should have a VIN within 2-3 weeks. Time from order to estimated arrival: 8 weeks.
Another UPDATE: Got my VIN today and window sticker!! Really feels real now lol. ETA bumped up to 6/19 but hoping for earlier.

I was quoted today the following for an S AWD in Everlasting Silver with Black Interior that has Captain's Chairs. They originally told me they would not sell it for less than $2000 over MSRP because they are "hot and selling quicker than they can keep them in stock". But when I told them no thanks, they emailed me back with a better price. (This has all been done over text / email so far).

OTD Price: $37,490
Sales Tax 7% brings it $40,114.
Financing Rebate for $1500 brings it to $38,614
Delivery Fee: $500 (I am purchasing it from one state over and they will deliver it)

Looking at $39,144 when it is all said and done. Not sure how screwed I am getting here, if at all. So much different information out there.

They did tell me that I can only get the conquest extra $1000 rebate if the registration of the car in question is in my name, and since it is in my wife's they said I could not receive that rebate. Is that true?

Not true at all. I just got the conquest rebate and the car is in my wife's name. I didn't even have my wife co-sign or register so she didn't have to come to the dealership. I think the price is also too high, in my opinion.
