In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I know this will sound like a dumb question, but I have a dash-cam ordered, and my vehicle is not in my possession yet.

I am looking to hard-wire it to the fuse panel, but I need to confirm what fuses the Telluride has so i can buy the correct "Add-A-Fuse" kit.

I have a good idea, but a confirmation from someone here would go a long way.

Thanks in advance.

micro2. The incredibly small, I need a pair of tweezers because my pliers don’t fit kind.

If it's helpful at all I used this exact kit to hardwire my dashcam: Robot Check

(I don't know if the link worked. If not it is titled "BioFuse Micro2 70 Piece Automotive Fuse Assortment and Holders Pack (3 Add-a-Circuit Fuse Tap Adapters, 70 Blade Fuses + Fuse Puller) 5A 7.5A 10A 15A 20A 25A 30A" on Amazon)

Thanks. I am in Canada so it's not available to me...

I am just going to get the Add-a-fuse adapters, just needed to know which fuse type so it matches.

Yeah, I only specifically mentioned those because they’re really slim. As a heads up, some people were mentioning having to shave down the plastic body of the fuse adapters because they were too wide and the fuse box in the kick panel does not have any extra margins for the plugs.

so just be sure to get the thinnest ones you can, or be ready to shave them down

@GreekWiz which dashcam did you end up getting?

Looking it up myself and I am currently thinking of getting the Viofo A129 Plus Duo, throw in the hardwire kit and the car should be good to go with parking mode also.

A few years ago when I wanted to hardwire my dash cam I was told that if I was to hardwire the camera and even if the dealership did it it would void warranty. I asked the mechanic what If I unplugged it before service he said it wouldn't matter because it would show up in the log that an external device was using the fuse box. So now im just using the 12v plug in. I have asked a few other mechanics to help me with a hardwire while getting oil changes at the Kia dealership and they all gave me the same answer "we could help you but it'll void your warranty". I never bothered to ask when I got this Telly.

I’ve had dashcams and radar detectors hard wired for the last 10 years. Not once has any of my warranty claims ever been questioned due to these being hard wired.

Actually just had an electronics issue with my 2020 F150 resolved under warranty and I have a Cobra radar detector and a Rove Dashcam which were installed 2 weeks after I bought it. Both were obviously visible during the 5k oil change and the recent visit to the dealer.

Taking to my salesperson, I am being told the fuses are mini and not micro2. Can anyone clarify? Would appreciate it.

The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act - Wikipedia allows you to make some mods and won't void your warranty.

See this Edmunds article for additional references: What Voids Your Vehicle's Warranty? | Edmunds

Installing a trailer brake controller won't void your engine warranty, unless they can prove that the brake controller directly caused the issue. The burden is on them to prove it's the cause, not you having to defend it.

I just pulled one out of my 2020. Looks like micro2.

Viofo A129 Plus Duo
@dansta, I just installed one of these on my 2020 SXP today—installation was a breeze. I purchased my A129 Plus Duo from Viofo direct (they had a promo code going on right when they came out) and I got the hardwire kit, two fuse adapter sets, and two polarization filters. It took a few hours to install, but nothing tricky. I haven’t had a chance to play around with the camera yet, but everything seemed to function ok during setup and while positioning the cameras.
Let me know if you have any specific questions or if you’d like photos of anything and I’ll do what I can to help.

in terms of the fuses that you tapped, can you advise which ones?

What fuse did you plug in?
This dash needs constant electricity as there is no built-in battery. If there is no constant power supply, the parking mod and the shock sensor will not work and will not record what is happening.

I used the passenger powered seat fuse for always on (red wire on the viofo power adapter) and the rear wiper fuse for the switched power (yellow wire on the viofo power adapte). i’ve seen these fuse adapters come loose before, so I chose these circuits because if they came loose it shouldn’t impact vehicle safety until they’re reconnected.

I have looked the hardwiring topic up in terms of the palisade and its surprising that the two fuses they commonly use are two spares, that do not exist in our fuse panel. Wonder if the fuse panel is set up the same way for us to just add fuses and use those same spots?

@Jmoretti thanks for the hardwire location, it will definitely come in handy.

I have the Vantrue N2 Pro dual dashcam. I've been looking for the right fuse to use for the parking mode feature. I was thinking the Module 8 would be the one to use as it's supposed to provide power to the dome lights? Thanks for the picture of the fuse hookups.
