• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I know there are a ton of videos showing how to get wipers into service mode.

But mine are stuck in service mode - the up position.

I can get them to drop by turning the vehicle off and then holding up the wiper stalk.

But the next time the wipers activate (from auto or manual), they wipe and end up pointing up and staying there.

They will continue to work, but end up resting, or turning off, in the up position.

I have to turn the vehicle off again and hold up the stalk. Every time.

Any ideas?

  • To lower the wiper arms, turn the ignition ON. Then hold the Wiper Blade Control Stalk up again for more than 2 seconds, this will cause the wiper blades to return to the original “park” position.

The car is brand new.

With engine on, lifting the stalk causes them to start wiping. No matter how long I hold it up.

If your Kia wipers are stuck in service mode, the most common way to get them out is to turn the ignition on, then quickly turn it off while holding the wiper stalk in the "mist" position for a couple of seconds; this should trigger the wipers to return to their normal operating position.
