hmm, I wonder if the 2020 and 2021 are different.
I think that the 2020 just has a 4pin.
I don't really like the idea of cutting my trim piece, but I'm not sure if I need a harness at this point.
For 2020 only 4 pin from Kia was available.
When 2021 models released, the US got 7 pin also, but in Canada never arrived until much much later.
You can install 4pin or 7pin on either model year.
Mine was done in September 2020, long before the the "official" 7 pin arrived to Canada, but looks exactly the same, the place did a great job.
If you get the hitch installed at dealer the trim piece comes with it, if not I highly suggest you just buy it. It's not that expensive. $40US.
My recommendation, don't cheap out, get the cover. You can always get the harness later, but I got the 7-pin in case I ever needed it. The extra $100 for the 7 pin harness (over the 4 pin) at that point was no big deal to me. (I paid $900 CDN for OEM KIA hitch, cover, 7 pin and brake controller).
OEM Hitch and install and cover was $430
7pin with brake controller was $560, I was quoted $220 for just 7 pin.
I called around, and all the places I called quoted me $1000 and up, so dealer was cheapest.
Knowing what I know now, I should have just gotten the 7-pin and a Bluetooth brake controller so the same price as the install and brake controller. Less intrusive.
