Bought Friday at Jim Ellis Kia in Kennesaw, GA. I shopped all around the Atlanta area and everyone was charging MSRP + $5,000-$7,500 and were not budging. I went with Jim Ellis for 2 reasons:
- Their $5K mark-up included lifetime powertrain warranty, window tinting with lifetime warranty, 3 year fabric and paint coverage, 3 year key replacement, nitrogen filled tires, and door edge guards and door cup guards. I would never buy a package like that, but all of the other dealers were charging $5K-$7.5K and including nothing extra. With that lifetime powertrain warranty, I guess this vehicle will be with us until the grave.
- They had one arriving in the color we wanted and in AWD which was our only real must have. We really didn't want to wait 3-6 months for a special order.
Jim Ellis does not let people put a deposit on a car unless you order it directly from Kia. For stock cars, it is first come first served when it hits the lot. My salesman texted me Friday morning. By the time I was looking at the vehicle, there were 2 other customers waiting for me to decide if I wanted it or not.
I ended up with a S trim AWD in Gravity Gray with gray interior. With the options it came with (
floor mats, cargo cover, auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink, interior lighting, mud guards, and front skid plate), the MSRP was $38,920. Add $1,225 for destination charge, $5,089 for the warranty package disccussed above, $699 normal dealer fee, plus tax, title, and tag and it was $49K out the door. Sounds ridiculous until you ask a few dealers what they can put you in a used Telluride for and get quotes of $53K-$62K.
I worked with Bryson at Jim Ellis. They were great throughout the process, and even threw in lifetime car washes.
