Bad Shock on a 2020 SX with factory towing package

We have a 2020 SX P / Towing (22k miles) and a couple months ago we started noticing the ride was super bouncy. At first I thought it might have been the tire pressure but it wasn't. Took it to the dealership 2 weeks ago and they couldn't identify anything by inspecting it on the lift so I asked them to drive it. The guy got back from the drive and said "yeah that's not right". They got the approval from KIA and ordered the rear shocks and we are taking it in tomorrow to get fixed. I'm also going to ask about the 4 pin connector we have since that's been all over the news.

They tried to repair mine as well, still no go. Apparently the parts are still faulty and no ETA on new replacements. I have emailed Kia customer service multiple times, no response.
I took the car in again for the rattle.

They said that the rear shock bushings need to be replaced.. after 18k miles.. and the part was a week out on backorder.

Hopefully, when they get these new bushing(s) - not sure if they are replacing one.. or two... or for that matter.. if its the entire shock or bushing..initially the service rep said shock.. I asked questions.. and they then said.. bushings... so hopefully the receipt will give details...once they actually do some part replacement.

Noticed a rougher bouncier ride lately. Took it in for the 45k service and they tested them out and said that the rear shocks were frozen. The dealer said they've been seeing this issue a lot and is submitting a warranty claim.

Had my left strut replaced and I also had both insulators replaced, same issue. This is driving me nuts! My main concern is, is it safe? The techs assured me that it is, despite the noise, the suspension system is tight

The ride is way bouncy but I haven't felt like it's out of control. Annoying as hell, I agree. Hopefully they can get my warranty replacement approved quickly then get the parts.

strangely I haven't noticed a bouncy ride, perhaps those absorbers are helping with that. But that annoying clunking or popping sound when going slowing over a bump is annoying. Driving faster , I don't hear it...Thankfully, to deal with that noise all time, I would lose my S***

That sound may be the self leveling working as designed (mechanical pump) if you don’t hear it again after picking up speed.

I am having the same bouncy issue. I have a 2021 SX-P with the tow package. It has gotten decidely worse over the last 2 months. My Telluride is at 30,400 miles. I took it into a local dealer and have gotten a weird reaction. Yesterday, they called and said they felt the bounce. They said they were reaching out to KIA for guidance on what to do.

Then, I get a call a few minutes ago where they now said "We did the road test vehicle multiple times again, we were not able to verify an issue at this time. It does look like it is characteristic of the the rear suspension. "

Not sure why the story has changed, but this is complete bull $hit. I am obviously quite annoyed.

Who have you all called at KIA corporate to get help to address this issue? I am thinking that is the next step I am going to need to take (after I express my displeasure to the dealer).

My dealer actually filed a warranty claim which got approved. Parts arrived yesterday and the service is scheduled for Friday. They made it sound like it was a documented issue, at least with the 2020 models. They had seen multiple vehicles with the issue so that helped.

I had two dealers apply TSB-113, Clay Cooley Kia of Irving (texas) did it correctly.. Central Kia of Plano either didn't do it, or did it wrong.

Thankfully.. rattle is fixed:

Currently waiting to hear back from dealership on ETA for replacement shocks for rear on my 2021 Telluride. They're not responding and I'm most concerned as to whether the vehicle is safe to drive. I'm hovering at nearly 40K miles. They have said the replacement would be covered under warranty and that this is something they're seeing.

Again, had intended to take my 16' camper for one last fall roadtrip in a week but am concerned that I probably shouldn't be towing with the car in this state. I'd really appreciate anyone weighing in as I admittedly know very little about cars/suspension/etc. TIA!

From a time frame standpoint It took about a week to get the approval on the warranty claim then about a week to get the parts in for my car.

From a safety standpoint I don't know. We loaded up and took my daughter back to college with just the rough ride, but that's not nearly the load you'd have with a trailer.

As an update, one dealer was not willing to do anything. When I dropped off at dealer #2 for the proverbial 2nd opinion after hours last night, I had a call by 945AM saying they would order new rear shocks and the insulators. It will be a couple of days until they come in, but it is covered under warranty.

So, hopefully this will wind up in a good result. It is still perplexing to me the completely different answers I (and others) got from dealer to dealer.

Circling back around here. There is a TSB for new insulators assemblies installed, however that did not do the trick.

I actually had 2 different dealers install new ones, finally resulting in replacement of the shocks themselves. After that, the noise finally went away.

Currently, no issues.

Mine goes in next Friday. Hopefully they fix the problem and the noise.
Two different dealers. Multiple trips so they could "figure it out."
New dealer agreed the rear struts and isolators need replacing. Parts ordered.
Long journey to fix a known problem...

I've had both rear shocks replaced on my 21 and it sounds just like what I was experiencing. I would push them to address both sides at the same time. My other side started making noise a week after I got the first side replaced.
Well, I think it's going back in. Clunking started up again at slow speeds.

Been experiencing bouncy/rough riding for at least 3 months, last 3-5K miles.

Asked them to take a look at shocks/struts because it's riding rough and especially very bouncy. Both the tech and service manager took it for a drive, and they said "it's like a brick." They said it seems like the shocks could be frozen or something.

They have the rear shocks in stock, so I think they're replacing them right now. I'm waiting in the lounge.

New shocks and isolators going in on Tuesday. Plus recall work.
