If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Running board / side steps self install tips

Interested
Shipping is going to kill you on those. They are about $850 shipped online. Check with your purchasing dealer and see if they can give you a deal.

$776.99 shipped on Amazon.

I like the bug shield on front of hood. Do you have info. as where it can be purchased? Thanks

Well, I bought my TR-SXP last month but didn't have much time for put some accessories.
After I did PPF from PDX Wraps, I put mud guards and side steps / running board today.

Took me several hours!! Once you get onto it, I am pretty sure that everyone could do it easily.
I am going to post several photos that I took while I was putting them.

Just in case, if you plans to put them by yourself, please double check you have right tools.
Feel free to ask me any questions.

What tools did you need to do this? Did you have to remove the lower trim to find the holes for the bolts?

FWIW, I ordered the OEM boards yesterday from kiapartsnetwork.com for $720 (along with 2 other accessories) and shipping came to $65 for everything. ETA June 17-19

Finished installing OEM running boards and OEM mud guards.
These are the Canadian boards. Perfect fit/form/color. 1h15 labour DIY.
Hi 12MANY, question for you or anyone else out there that has installed OEM running boards, I just picked up my Telluride at the dealer today (finally!), and had them install the black OEM boards (part number s9h37 ap000). I asked the service department to save the removed rocker panels in case I have to remove the boards at the end of my lease. The service technician came out and said they didn't remove anything. I thought it was very odd as it seems impossible to install sidesteps over the existing panels. Can anyone confirm and ideally send a photo of what they should have given back to me after the install of this particular model of sidesteps? Thanks in advance!

How does this effect the warranty? I’m thinking of installing them myself and just wanted to confirm

Anyone have their rocker panels still? I have a 2022 SX-P that came with OEM steps and I don’t want them. I want to install the black horse peerless side steps and need rocker panels.

Do the clips break when you remove the plastic rocker panel covers? Or are they replaceable if you pull the running boards off?

Hi GENiK,
I have factory installed side steps and see
that mounting brackets for the steps block the pinch points where you are supposed to place the jack!!!
How did you get around this?

Are you not able to order them from factory right now?

How much would the dealer charge for parts and labor?

Just saw your post. Hope I’m not too late, and if I am maybe it will help someone else.
I installed my Canadian side rails myself without using a jack without issue. No cutting no drilling no problem. I wouldn’t consider myself exceptionally skilled. Directions are easy to follow. Took me about an hour. Turned out nice. I like the look.

Pics? Also, can you measure the new ground clearance with running boards installed?
I have the M&S lowering springs on my Telly, and I want to install the all-black OEM boards on it, to help achieve the 'slammed look' that I am seeking. I am worried about ground clearance though, so I'd really appreciate your measurements, if possible!!

The front brackets are 7.5 inches off the ground. The rear brackets are slightly less than 8 inches off the ground. Hope this helps.

Can you share the install instructions?

Hi, I’m a little late to the party here but interested in installing the Canadian running boards myself. I’m assuming they are the same (brackets, installation etc.) and the only difference is the color.

There’s a post above that suggests brackets cover the jacking points. That sounds like a design issue. Can you still jack up the car or place jack stands?

I had no problems installing the running boards without jacking up the car.

I didn’t mean for the purpose of running board installation. My question is if the running board brackets cover the jacking points and cause problems with jacking the car up for future maintenance.

Could you please upload a picture of jacking points from the side and ground looking up. That would be super helpful.
