If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What Does the Telluride have that the Palisade Doesn’t?

🤖 AI Summary

No AI summary has been generated for this thread yet.
Palisade lacks one touch open/close rear windows and aluminum sport pedals as well. The one touch rear windows is an odd omission. I had grown to love them on my Sorento

So... pricing for the Palisade was released a few weeks ago, and pricing is nearly identical to the Telluride across the trims.

But how? The Palisade has a bunch of stuff that the Telluride doesn’t, especially on the top trim... full digital dash, power folding 3rd row, pushbutton transmission, etc.

Well, now that Palisade are trickling into dealers and the review embargo has been lifted, things are starting to make sense... the Telluride has some features that the Palisade doesn’t.

The biggest Telly advantage? Power folding mirrors. It has been confirmed that the Palisade DOES NOT have them available on any trim. This is huge for me. I really want a full digital dash, but I really need power folding mirrors on my next car.

On the more subtle front, we also know that the Palisade has a bit more space, a bit better MPG, and, based on initial numbers, appears to be a whisker quicker than the Palisade.

So, any other Telluride exclusives? I’m really torn on which vehicle to get, but the power folding mirrors have me swaying back towards the Telluride.

The Palisade does have power folding mirrors in video I just watched. The video was about an aftermarket power running board but the vehicle definitely had folding mirrors. Haven’t read this entire threadsomaybe someone else has commented on this. Just wanted to mention it. BTW. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase of an SX I’ve had for 2 months. Awesome vehicle.

This is what killed it for me. Besides the grill and the cupholder being on the same surface as your phone charger, the handling of the rear side windows and trim is what makes me not able to go with a Palisade.

I agree. That side view look way too much like the Ford Explorer. I've noticed Chevy copying Kia styling in a lot of their new vehicles and that makes Kia look good. With Hyundai following Ford styling it signals that they're not a style leader like Kia.

I thought the same thing... not Hyundai's brightest idea...
The wireless charger has a wall around it. No moisture will get in. Think - spill prof shelves in a fridge. Nice large lip perimeter.

But to the original post I have no idea why Hyundai didn’t include power folding mirrors, with all the cameras in the side mirrors it would suck is someone drive by and hits them.

Styling (subjective) aside either would be a good purchase as they both have pros and cons depending on what is important to you. My wife was firm that she wanted the Telluride SXP, but at the time Kia stopped taking orders. This gave her the option to actually see the Palisade in person which actually began to grow on her. Seeing the Palisade in person actually changed my opinion somewhat. I don't think you'll be disappointed with either as neither is perfect.:)

We chose Telluride over Palisade over one specific item: more space in the 3rd row.

Being a tall family (6’3, 5’11, 5’9 and an 11 year old who’s already 5’1) we made our choice by simply what vehicle has more room.

We did various seating tests in every row with chairs back at different levels.

Fact: the Telluride has 2 more inches in the 3rd row then the Pallisade and 2” of leg room for tall people is a very big deal.

This is how The Telluride won in our household.

This is very good to know! Thanks for sharing these facts. Having easy access to 3rd row is obviously important. But equally as important is having more room in the 3rd row.

Yes, that's good to know. Hyundai and Kia spec sheets say they are identical - at 31.4 inches. And, it says Palisade has 2.7 more inches of leg room in first row - but that doesn't make sense. Spec sheets are probably measured differently.

Yes your family is tall so definitely the Telluride for you. Those numbers would have definitely made my decision (wife buy in of course since this is going to be her vehicle) for the Telluride over the Palisade.

I found something that the Telluride has that the Palisade doesn't. Stealth Bomber Mode!!! Activate your overhead view while your mirrors are folded in. It was good for a laugh...=)

Introducing the all new 202 Kia Explorer? AMAZINGLY SIMILAR (although I think the Hyundai is better looking; but not a nice as the Telluride)!

more leg room than any other midsized SUV. 119" , 8 more inches than the pilot

Difference in remote start between the 2 cars. Pally has key fob start, Telluride requires smart phone app with subscription.

Palisade in SEL trim with 3 major upgrade groups has self-leveling rear suspension, while my Telly EX does not, love my A/C seats not available on the Palisade. Price difference is substantial.

That could have been a non-US spec. On the US models, there are no power folding mirrors listed on any trim - as we mentioned. Not even on Limited...

I was also disappointed by the 'missing' feature of power-folding side mirrors. But I have seen a few aftermarket side mirror power-folding mechanisms that may be added to the Pallisade, which would eliminate this 'missing' feature. Maybe this item could be added, as the part < $35, but labor maybe a few hundred.

ok today I bought my Telluride SX limited.....wife and decided on this over the Palisade. Here's why.....
The exterior looks of Telluride both front and back is much nicer and it is DISTINCT from the lower lines within the same company's offering..... Hyundai's lower lines (Santa Fe, Kona, Venue will all have the same exterior front look as the "flagship" Palisade. This kinda cheapens the flagship in my opinion.
