Yes, that would make sense since the Telluride is slightly longer than the Palisade. The Telluride also has more cu.ft. in the far back compared to the Palisade. We chose Telluride over Palisade over one specific item: more space in the 3rd row.
Being a tall family (6’3, 5’11, 5’9 and an 11 year old who’s already 5’1) we made our choice by simply what vehicle has more room.
We did various seating tests in every row with chairs back at different levels.
Fact: the Telluride has 2 more inches in the 3rd row then the Pallisade and 2” of leg room for tall people is a very big deal.
This is how The Telluride won in our household.
Do the power folding mirrors on the Kia Telluride fold in only when the vehicle is stopped or can you fold them in and then drive into the garage with them folded? I thought I saw in a video or read that they fold when stopped. That could have been a non-US spec. On the US models, there are no power folding mirrors listed on any trim - as we mentioned. Not even on Limited...
There's a button to manually fold the mirrors. Otherwise they automatically fold when you lock the doors using the key fob or with the outside door buttons.Do the power folding mirrors on the Kia Telluride fold in only when the vehicle is stopped or can you fold them in and then drive into the garage with them folded? So... pricing for the Palisade was released a few weeks ago, and pricing is nearly identical to the Telluride across the trims.
But how? The Palisade has a bunch of stuff that the Telluride doesn’t, especially on the top trim... full digital dash, power folding 3rd row, pushbutton transmission, etc.
Well, now that Palisade are trickling into dealers and the review embargo has been lifted, things are starting to make sense... the Telluride has some features that the Palisade doesn’t.
The biggest Telly advantage? Power folding mirrors. It has been confirmed that the Palisade DOES NOT have them available on any trim. This is huge for me. I really want a full digital dash, but I really need power folding mirrors on my next car.
On the more subtle front, we also know that the Palisade has a bit more space, a bit better MPG, and, based on initial numbers, appears to be a whisker quicker than the Palisade.
So, any other Telluride exclusives? I’m really torn on which vehicle to get, but the power folding mirrors have me swaying back towards the Telluride.
And get ready for the TELLURIDE PICKUP!!
ok today I bought my Telluride SX limited.....wife and decided on this over the Palisade. Here's why.....
The exterior looks of Telluride both front and back is much nicer and it is DISTINCT from the lower lines within the same company's offering..... Hyundai's lower lines (Santa Fe, Kona, Venue will all have the same exterior front look as the "flagship" Palisade. This kinda cheapens the flagship in my opinion.
The telluride has a real gearshift lever not the gimmicky push button stupidity that is becoming prevelant. That was the first thing that got me looking at the telluride. Actually drove both. In a perfect world I would put the front of the palisade on the telluride and it would be a home run.
Excellent article. The South Koreans have stepped up which we all knew already. The reviewer summed it up well:What does Telluride have that Palisade doesn't? Another comparison win:

We ended up with a Palisade Limited. I'd prefer a traditional gearshift over the pushbutton selector on the Palisade, and I would love to have folding mirrors but our local Kia dealer absolutely SUCKS. We have a Sedona and I've had to deal with them for 3 years and I swore I would never buy a car from them. So that left the Palisade. After 5000 miles I don't have any regrets, and the Hyundai dealer actually seems to care for their customers. I find that I do use the keyfob remote start quite a bit now that colder weather is here so I would have missed that if we had bought the Telluride. I know I could use the remote app but the keyfob literally takes just a few seconds to start the car.
*Edit* - Forgot to mention I really prefer the Palisade digital dash. I can squint when I approach my car to avoid looking at the grill, but it's a little harder to avoid looking at the dash when driving. I can't for the life of me understand why Hyundai put folding mirrors on all the Palisade except the US spec units. No doubt they will show up in the next refresh, but jeez that was a bonehead decision.
