• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Remote start

make your money, make your money, make your money.....'subscriptions" are what it's all about today! Seems if the 'pay once and done" days are done forever!
Indeed it is. Subscription Based Services is the new business model (although not really new) everyone seem to be moving to.

I have read on the Kia web site thst the the Telluride comes with remote start as standard as long as you have the UVO app and subscription. When I asked the Kia dealer they said it does not have remote start. Does anyone know what the answer is?
On the app free for 1 ye then you have to pay for the app

I was at my local mall today and they had a LX Telluride on display. In reading the sticker the dealer had its $3k “special package”. Nothing new but what was interesting was in the package was a dealer installed remote start. They must have something they are are starting to use.

UAE Smart Key

here’s a link to purchase one if anyone is curious enough to try getting remote start without additional equipment installation to the vehicle. SURELY Kia didn’t actually ship the international models with different auxiliary related equipment... (lol, i’m sure they did)

link is dead????

Is it at all possible they’ve changed the remote start? (Confession: I didn’t scroll through all 16 pages) My S will be here next week and the window sticker says, “smart key with push button start” and next in the list is “Uvo link with 1 year free subscription”.

Doesn't that mean a smart key and a push button start in the car not on the fob?
Oh gosh! You’re right I didn’t realize that. I’m so annoyed remote start isn’t automatically on the key fob. I assumed that was a standard thing!

Is there anyway to change the remote start timer from 5 mins to 10 mins with the app?

The default is 10 mins... and can NOT be extended. You can re-start it, but not extend the time once started.

Not sure how yours is 5 mins

Our dealership added a remote start to ours using our key fob. It’s delay is almost as long as with the app. I’m used to my ford. It was instant.

I was honestly a bit shocked to see the app tell me it could take a "few minutes" to start or unlock after I pushed the button. FordPass with our Mustang is virtually instant (and free).

Do you know what they used to add it to the key fob? Does it still go through the software?

We go to Northern michigan where there is no cell reception therefore uvo would be useless as I understand it.
Exactly! And there are plenty of dead spots all over that it just wont work... SOOO i ended up chalking up $325 and had a RS installed. Uses the same fob but also came with a long range fob. Done!
