With 3.3T V6..GV80 is a splendid masterpiece and add to that the plush interiors , clean dashboard...clearly wins the heart.

It’s a sweet ride, no doubt. Ability to completely customize, diagnose mechanical issues iwithout going to a mechanic, 14 exterior color options (including three satin options), OEM 22” rim option...the list goes on.

Yeah, but that 3.3T is gonna be $$$. The base for the US is gonna be a 2.5 4 cyl.

And the digital dash is another $$$ option. The base analog dash looks hideous, a bit like the Pilot’s dash, but possibly worse. The Korean manual has pictures of both.

Also, I don’t like the exterior styling. The triangle C-Pillar windows are uglee. Both the Telluride and Palisade look better to me, and that curved rear has gotta be murder on the third row (which is also an option).

So, while the car has some amazing features, I’d be looking at high 60s minimum to get it where I want it. That’s way out of my budget.

Hell, I’m trying to figure out where I’m gonna get 47K for an SX-P.

I believe you are right. But this vehicle isn't competing with Telluride and Palisade. It is way too small in rear. Definitely going after X5 customers.

One thing to remember is the GV80 is not built on the same platform as the Telluride. It will be slightly smaller and have totally different engine choices. Love the headlights, jury is still out on the rest. It will be interesting when the critics get around to a direct comparison between the top line Tellurides and Pallisades and the GV80. The GV80 going for a large premium over the Telluride will be a tough sell. There are many writers calling the Telluride the best mid-size SUV regardless of price, brand-snobbery aside.
 
Definitely going to be a nice ride, but probably will sit around 75K for a loaded one. 😭😢

Genesis has a GV80 configurator on their Korean website. I don’t speak or read Korean, but it’s easy enough to play with:

Cheapest model is 65,800,000 won ($56,851.07). Fully tricked out, it’s 79,700,000 won ($68,860.65). Maybe the base model gets a bit cheaper in the US with a 4 cyl. engine, but it’s still likely to be above $50,000. And I’m thinking a tricked out model will be just shy of $70,000 in the US.

Where the heck did they come up with a $60,000 “fully loaded“ price?

Make that a 3.5TT V6, a significantly more premium interior and a good bit more tech.

I’m changing my mind about the G80. This thing is pretty sweet!
I think it will sell very well.
 
Car & Driver is sticking to 50K base and 65K fully loaded. Interested to compare the base with the SX-P for and addition 3-4K.

There is a configurator online with options, unfortunately no prices are listed. To get all of the options for an SXP, you have to get a fully loaded one. If you don’t need a heads up display, you can do an Advanced.

I created a reservation for one last night. My wife can have her SX, I’ll take this. If it doesn’t lease well, I can walk away.
 
I can't say I like the styling on the GV80, but the material quality looks very good.

One thing to consider is that the GV80 with be rear drive based with a longitudinal engine as opposed to the transverse engine in the Telluride. That means the GV80 will probably have less interior space.

Also, the base engine is a 2.5 turbo. .

Seems to be even below G80

This is more of a Lexus RX/RX-L, BMX X5, Mercedes GLE competitor. This is not a large, full size three-row luxury SUV. This is why Genesis made the rear seat optional. Here is Alex on Auto doing a first look: 2021 Genesis GV80 First Look

The RWD platform means they needed to raise the seating for the third-row and maybe even the second-row seats. This means the GV80 third row is much more cramped than either the Telluride or its cousin, the Palisade. Sofyan Bey of Redline Reviews is only 5ft 6in and he can barely fit back there:

Yea looks to be 4 or 5 inches shorter than a Q7...I'm good with that. I like it...Think its a nice effort by Genesis, it's on my list as a replacement for the spouse's Q7 in a year or two.
