What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I bought a 2016 Honda Civic Touring 4 years ago and this was also a complete redesign that was well sought after! I worked through a broker in my credit union and was able to get it wayyy below MSRP! I was even able to secure a 1.47% apr loan! Sadly, the same broker can't secure me a Telluride competitively this time around. I guess they're feeling the pinch from the dealership as well.

The real take away for this suv is suppose to be the affordability and the dealerships are taking that away. It's kinda hard to justify spending an amount that's already in the territory of true luxury cars. This is still a KIA after all.

They'll probably fight you tooth and nail on the add ons. Those things are pure profit for them. Brake light thing is $10 from Amazon. Paint protection is at most a ceramic coating that costs 50-100, it's more of a warranty program. If you paint gets that bad, take it to a detailer for a couple hundred bucks. Interior protection is another warranty type program and they probably spray some 3M Scotchguard. GPS tracking: Kia's UVO system can locate your car from the built in GPS. Edge guards are probably the only thing worth having, but you can get it done much cheaper elsewhere.

What sucks is that you can't even do the whole "walk away" routine because they know they'll sell it to the next person.

Yeah, I've read a few threads where people said that the dealership refused to budge on the add ons, we really don't have much leverage here. I'm just going to be up front when/if I do order it and tell them to not even bother. I wonder how that will go over. One option is that I've seen that the dealership in Muncie is selling them $1200 or so below MSRP without haggle and you can get the extended warranty (if that's something you like) for just under $1500. Hell even if I have to pay $1000 to ship it to San Diego it would be well worth it AND get to skip the hours of BS and frustration with those high pressure finance jackwads.

I was told they don't have a timeline on when they would get more Tellurides and if they would even be 2020s. I will most likely do the same because I figured, even to have it shipped at $1000, that would just bump you back up to the most, MSRP since they are offering under it.

When I talked to the El Cajon dealership they started listing ones they were scheduled to receive in May and June that didn't have deposits on them. But at the same time they also said that they don't have much clarity one what's showing up. They just received 5 that they didn't know they were getting. But they also said that the ports were delayed due to C-19 but don't these all come from Georgia? Anyway, it's hard to find anyone that knows what the F they're talking about - there's a lot of confusion and unknowns going around. At this point I'm damn near ready to just go buy a used GLS-450 and call it a day.

I've been shopping the Telluride in San Diego since September/October and I've pretty much spoken with every dealer in San Diego/OC/Riverside and some of the LA dealership and had several conversations with El Cajon and they won't budge on the add on's that they put on every car. They try and sell you on the "value" that you're geting from these mandated add-ons, but thus far they aren't moving off those on the Tellurides. Honestly I haven't spoken to anyone since COVID but my guess is that they/along with every dealer in San Diego haven't moved off the mark ups. I was working on a guy in San Bernadino who was goign to order at MSRP but he's ghosted me prior to COVID. I've posted about my experience with one of these dealerships (Kearney Mesa here: Bad Dealer Dealings - List Your Bad Dealer Experience )

Wow, I don't know how you've been so relentless and driven. I would've given up or just paid the premium a long time ago. I have a friend who's ex-wife sells to fleet vehicles to businesses, right now they have 3 Ford Raptors they're converting to right hand drive to sell in Australia. She's going to see if she can get me a deal. If not I'm moving on. I don't have the patience.

Been shopping around for quite some time. Finally settled on a sales price of $39,324 without taxes, title, fees. This dealership is honoring a True Car quote with $956 discount off MSRP. It's an EX Premium in Dark Moss. Add in the $1k off to finance with KMF, I think it's a pretty good deal and not sure I can swing a better one. I would prefer the Gravity Gray or Ebony Black, but the Dark Moss could grow on me.

Will circle

I just recently started considering this car. Are they still going for near MSRP? I find that hard to believe since covid took over the world. Maybe it'll be best to just wait for people to start cancelling their suv's. I don't see many people even thinking about buying this car.

Hi Lallo, we just bought one off a lot in the Boston area. Will post more later this week. In New England, so far as I can tell, SXs appear to still be selling around MSRP before any rebates, with some dealers asking for much more. Lower trims seem as though they may be available modestly below MSRP. The cars appear to still be selling — inventories remain low, and a few VINs we were discussing with dealers sold over the course of the last week. As others on this forum have noted, the lack of supply with the factory shut down appears to be offsetting the decline in demand from COVID, and keeping prices elevated, at least where I live. Once the factory reopens, and if jobs and economic activity don’t start rebounding, this could very well change. And there are plenty of deals to be had on cars with inventory built up at dealers — you could get a deep discount on an Audi Q7 if you’d like.

Then you haven't been looking, demand is still high on this vehicle. Unfortunately supply is getting worse which means prices will still remain high for some time.

You can't get a deep enough discount on a new Audi Q7 to cover the huge value hit as soon as it goes to used. Plus, these discounts on new directly correlate to even bigger pre-owned value declines. IF the Audi was perceived to be as good a value as the Telluride, they wouldn't be discounting them.

We've had our Telluride for 9 months and 15,000 miles. It is still worth more used than what I paid new....

Hello! Just bought a Moss Green SX with the Prestige package in Maryland. Bought it and did the paperwork while social distancing in my driveway. Every dealer had been insisting on 5-10k over MSRP. That had driven us to consider the Lincoln Aviator and some other SUVs. I saw the vehicle on the website and reached out to the dealer asking about it. They sent an email saying it was selling at MSRP (while also inflating the MSRP in the email to the selling price). I pushed back on the MSRP, and they backed off. In the end, they sold it for MSRP. We took the deal with the $1,000 rebate and the slightly higher interest rate for 48 months. It was about $5 less per month than the lower interest rate.

I like the palisade exterior better. I plan to wait took , it’s hard. Although I’ve waited this long for a car , I should be able to keep waiting. No way I will buy without any discounts. If I have to wait to end of year , I guess I can. The sorento is $8k under sticker so I figured $6k is aggressive but fair. Cant hurt to ask.
I'm waiting too. I think I'll look at the 2021 Sorento, but MRSP could be as much as the Telluride. Don't know if I could live with that.

Paid exactly sticker price, plus tax and fees - $36,065 here in San Diego - S trim, pretty standard equipment. Put $8k down to avoid being upside down in case some awesome trade opportunity on an SX comes up!

Asked for a quote online. You guys weren't kidding (the quote was MSRP). I like the car, but I think I'm going with a pilot. I just can't seem to get myself to pay full price for a car. Maybe I've listened to Dave Ramsey too much (now I'm considering a used 2-3 yr old car-haha).

If you haven't given the Telluride a serious once over yet, then at least do that for yourself first. When you compare option to option and then consider the remainder of the appeal (warranty too), you may find that even at sticker price the Telluride will cost you less with the same equipment and be the better car.

Check this out too -(spoiler - it was a landslide victory #GoTelly)
