• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am frustrated not being able to find SX with Prestige package and Grey interior. ALso do not want to wait for 3 months.

Wondering if I am crazy to just skip the Prestige package (see below) and get SX without it?

What I would be missing:

Premium Nappa Leather Seat Trim
Premium Headliner
Head-Up Display (HUD)
Heated 2nd-Row Seats
Ventilated 2nd-Row Seats
Automatic Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers

I lived in Florida and never needed cooled seats, had black leather. Or I’m missing something hugeeee

I skipped it on my order. But really considered it. Opinions are pretty subjective though. My thoughts...

Seats look nicer, but felt the same to me.
Headliner is whatever to me. Don't know the last time I noticed a headliner in a car.
HUD - I honestly find a bit distracting and wear sunglasses most all the time I am driving.
Second row comfort... I almost ordered for this. But my second row passengers are in car seats for most the life of this car.
Rain sensing wipers - Again, almost wanted this, but I spend so much time overriding mine in my Audi and my wife's Honda that they might as well be manual. They work great in solid rain, but spitty/damp conditions they seem inadequate. But I don't have experience with Kia's sensors.

You also loose the following options:
- Reverse Tilting Mirrors
- Satin Chrome vs Chrome
- Dual Sunroof
- High Beam Assist
- 10 Speaker Sound System (other models have 6)
- Blind Spot View Monitor
- Park Distance Warning
- Surround View Monitor (360 Camera)
-7" Screen in instrument cluster
- No Home link
- 12 way power vs 10 way power seats ( I think this is the thigh extender)
- Driver seat memory
- Heated and Ventilated 2nd row seats
- Stainless Steel Pedals

I would never buy a Telluride without it. It is worth every penny and my bet it those features will retain most of their value on resale. If the Telly didn’t have those features available, I’d already be in a 3 year lease of a 2019 X5.

I would like to get SX Prestige but also looking at X5. Like both a lot but trying to jstify waiting 3 mongs or if worth paying lot more for X5.

IMO waiting 90 days is worth the savings. I recently had a BMW 435i with M Package and while I loved the car I was really frustrated that a $65K vehicle had squealing brakes every time we pulled up to a stoplight and BMW told me "oh that is just part of owning a BMW". Turned it in at lease end and leased a Hyundai Genesis G80 sport and no issues after 2 years of the 3 year lease. Just my thoughts and experience.

Exactly.

Those come with the SX trim level, which is different than the Prestige package.

I skipped Prestige because I didn’t value the improvements over the price.

Yeah, I forget that you can get the SX without the prestige so my bad on that.

The heads up display alone is worth it to me. I have it on my stinger and love it. I always wear non polarized sunglasses so I have no trouble viewing it.

To get everything in the SX Prestige on an X5, you are looking at $80k easily.

Once you've owned loaded vehicles, its hard to accept anything less... Especially if you know something you miss is out there and you could have had it with a little patience, I'll wait if I have too....

Some of those things you listed are my FAVORITE part of my Telluride - and I didn’t even know what they were when I first got it! The HUD is amazing and so useful. I love it when I’m using turn for turn directions. The automatic wipers are something I never thought I would even notice, but they are awesome! It’s one less thing I have to think about when driving and they have worked perfectly. I also didn’t think the second row comfort would get used, but my kids have really liked it.
The headliner and Napa seats are fine and nice additions, but the other features make the prestige package worth it. I figured I’m keeping this car for a long time, might as well get exactly what I want.

My thoughts on not looking at the Prestige package.

Premium Nappa Leather Seat Trim - I felt no difference between the two leather packages
Premium Headliner - I am not looking at my headliner when I drive
Head-Up Display (HUD) - I have had it before and really have issues seeing it well, with sunglasses and contacts
Heated 2nd-Row Seats - Let the passengers warm it with their body heat
Ventilated 2nd-Row Seats - I never sit in the back
Automatic Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers - Nice, but I think I can turn my wipers on and off

Just my opinion
